Wasabi Power BLS-5 Two Batteries and Dual Charger Kit

The Wasabi batteries work very well in my Olympus OMD. All of the display functions are present, and they last as long between recharging as the Olympus battery (this may be a little subjective as I maintain no log as to the number of exposures made with each battery.). When out and about for the day there is always a spare, freshly-charged, battery in my pocket or gear bag Practically, I see no difference, other than price, between these and the Olympus-branded battery.This new charger is really handy. It is much smaller and lighter than either the previous Wasabi or Olympus chargers and, therefore, much easier to stow in your gear bag or carry-on. And, being USB powered and since the entire civilized world seems to be becoming inundated with USB outlets, it may be used almost everywhere.I have been using Wasabi batteries in two OMDs and an XZ-2 for several years and have never been disappointed. They have become my batteries of choice.

This is probably the 5-6th Wasabi charger I have purchased for various cameras over at least the past 8 years or so. They consistently work, are fairly easy to pack due to compact design and can be used with a USB hub, reducing the number of mains receptacles you need to find in a hotel room while traveling. Being able to charge 2 batteries at once is very useful when traveling, which is why I purchased this double charger. As far as batteries go, I have had consistent good luck with Wasabi Batteries working in a variety of Canon, Panasonic and Olympus cameras. They generally perform as well or better than the expensive brand name batteries despite their very low cost (in comparison).

The other refuses to hold a charge and lasts me less than 10 minutes....Wish both came in good condition.Edit: First time using Amazon's messaging to contact the seller. Seller was very quick to respond and sent out a replacement battery. The working one from the first order has been working great so far, no complaints there. Updating the star rating for the quick and excellent customer support!

I've tried several different brands of third party batteries for my OMD EM1s. I carry 2 bodies during a shoot and having 2 or 3 back up batteries for each body is my preference. No, these will not offer as much run time as Olympus batteries, but since you can get 2 or 3 of these for the price of 1 Olympus battery, it's a matter of convenience (not having to change batteries as often).In testing various batteries I found that the third party ones don't charge up as well with the Olympus charger. That's probably by Olympus' intent to discourage use of third party batteries. This USB charger not only charges the batteries to full capacity, but it chargers quicker than I expected.

I purchased this to go with an Olympus e-m5. I have a similar charging base for canon batteries and this is likewise great from swapping out the day's batteries when I get home so that they're ready early the next day.

Third party batteries can be very hit or miss. Wasabi seems to be one of the brands you can trust. They hold good charge, seem to have swelling issues much less often than competitors, and are much more cost effective than OEM. With ALL batteries, even the OEM ones, some rules should be followed. Always prefer the charging dock to in-camera charging. Do not store batteries at 100% (30-50% is best for lithium ion). Don't leave them in a hot car, and don't use them if they took a large drop. Follow simple rules, and quality third party are just as good as the originals.

I have originally owned these batteries in 2019 and after several years of use, the battery life finally reached its end. For an off-brand battery, I'd say that lasted for quite a long time. Thinking I'll have the same experience again, I decided to purchase two sets of battery packs this time. Boy have the times changed.Upon arriving, the batteries fit in the camera and works just fine. So I packed it for our trip and placed it inside my camera bag next to my older Wasabi batteries as well as my original Olympus battery (which is still rocking on by the way). After arriving at our destination, I opened my camera bag and found all four batteries have ballooned and expanded to a point that it no longer fits inside the camera. It was highly concerning especially after hearing about exploding batteries in airplanes. It could've happened to us.The camera bag went through x-ray and brought on the airplane, which is as routine as it gets. The other batteries have no issues and are placed directly next to these batteries in the same bag. Only these four batteries reacted this way.I have contacted Wasabi for an explanation and resolution. Unfortunately I was not able to ship this back to them because that would require either flying back with it or figuring out how to ship it back to them from our international location. I want to avoid a potential fire hazard.I cannot recommend buying these batteries at all seeing that this is how it reacted to traveling.

It works as well as the original battery value for money

These batteries don't seem to last quite as long as OEM batteries, but they're far cheaper and thus good value for the money. The included USB charger is very handy for charging batteries on the go (in the car, etc). The charger will charge both Wasabi and OEM batteries, and the OEM charger will charge the Wasabi batteries, which is nice.Given the so-so battery life on most mirrorless cameras (compared to old DSLRs), whenever I get a mirrorless camera the first thing I do is buy a few extra batteries...at this price, it's worth getting this package just to have some peace of mind in your bag!

Arrived sooner than delivery date and so far works great.
