Are these actually lady bugs or Asian beetles?

They're American ladybugs. I collect them and breed them in the state of CA.

I live in Chicago. Will they survive the brutal winter? Hibernate, migrate or die?

They hibernate. They might end up under a porch or trying to get into your house for the winter.

Will these breed and come back next year?

They have not returnedannually, for me. If you feed them as directed they will immediately breed and stay for the duration of the growing season, even through fall. Don't release all at once for best results.

It is very hot here. Do they adapt well to the extreme heat? (Upper 90s)

They were dead on arrival since it’s in the 100s here in northern Calif
