worked great!
The only issue I had was the included string for tying it off, it was kinda crappy and hard to tie... I just grabbed my roll of butcher string and worked great. After slicing the sausage the casing easily peels off. People complaining about the meat drying out is probably their own fault you should have a water bowl full at all times inside the smoker putting off steam.. mine was great until the water ran out.. fortunately it only was a little dry since the water ran out near the end of the smoking time

sausage casings
well these sausage casings work good they did not split open when stuffing them or split when cooked and they did shrink with the meat. I got 10.6 oz in them I'm sure I could have gotten a little more in there but not much. I stuffed them with summer sausage and smoked the in my masterbuilt electric smoker. the smoke did go though the casings into the meat the sausage turned out great . I will buy these casings again I just wish they were a little cheaper.

Will do 16lbs worth of meat
So these casings are recommended with the backwoods 25lb sausage kit, there are only 16 casings and stuffed to the max I could get about a pound a piece in them. Secondly your paying a little over a dollar a piece for a casing which seems high to me because I could go to Walmart buy the 30lb sausage kit with the casings for basically same value. They are a good size for sharing and cook well. The casings themselves I'm pleased with but just know you will need 2 packs for a full 25lb kit. Overpriced but good quality imo.

Nice size and easy to use
Bought the casing for some homemade summer sausage. Got right about 10 ounces in each casing. This was my first experience working with casing for the sausage (normally I form them into logs and place them on a rack and rotate often). But I did like the way they work and how easy it was too use. The pre-tied end was nice and worked well for hanging the sausage on the rack in the smoker. Don't feel like I got a whole lot of smoke flavoring through the casing so next time I will compensate and crank up a little more smoke.

Met expectations
They are smaller that I would I was used to using. Found that 10 oz of sausage was the perfect amount. Will buy again.

Title description doesn't match the picture
Product is decent for the price however title says 18pk and only received 15 so I looked at it again and only 15 are in picture. Had to go buy more to finish the job so not real happy. Just be aware you probably won't receive 18pk.

My goto casing
This is my goto casing for when I make smoked summer sausage. Each one holds about 12 ounces of summer sausage mixture. I really like the string loop that comes on the. Perfect for hanging in my smoker. More than enough string to tie the other end closed. They hold up great and let the right amount of smoke into the mix. Just make sure you soak them for about 20 to 30 minutes first so they soften up. If you have left over, just let them dry and put them back in the bag for next time.
