I've read a lot of bad reviews about this lens and it seemed like this focusing issue is very common but I still thought I'll give it a try and I did. And the lens didn't auto focus at all. There was no movement or noise like it was dead. I'm still glad I tried it because now I won't feel as bad spending several hundred pounds on a proper lens :)
