Fit my 2016 JKU perfectly. Used pinch clamps on the upper and lower radiator hoses to lessen coolant loss, I lost about a pint. The OEM housing is made from plastic, and it had a crack that was allowing coolant to seep just enough to smell it. Also the thermostat was bad (stuck open). My jeep was throwing a code for coolant temperature too low, it has to come up to temp in less than 20 minutes, or it will throw a code. It is a permanent code, so you cant erase it with a standard code reader. You have to drive it until it comes up to temp a certain number of times, and it will clear. This is a problem for those of you who have to have your vehicle inspected, it may give you trouble because of the stored code. Easy to install also, just two bolts holding it in place, torque those to 106 in lbs, or roughly 9 ft lbs, and voila, my code was gone after two short trips! Great value.

We bought this to replace the fragile plastic thermostat housing in my Jeep Wrangler. It was an easy install and a good fit. However, the location and style of the bleeder on this made it difficult to bleed the air out of the system and that part did take a while.

Car Type: Jeep Wrangler JK- 3.6L- 2015- “Penny”- Installed 12/1/25— So I put this thermostat in as a budget option to the Mishimoto stat, (only due time restriction, this was overnight in my area compared to the 4 day wait I could not afford. By ALL MEANS do not always trust budget friendly options when it comes to car parts. I got in person reviews from local mechanics who work on various pentastar engines) With that said: I am shocked by this product’s quality! It is a solid piece of aluminum, some minor scratches, but no dents or anything wrong with inner components/ well packaged. This thermostat was literally “plug in and play” and with a nicely designed gasket ring. My Jeep was previously overheating regularly, after diagnosing the thermostat was the issue this replacement has been flawless. My gal Penny has been back at highway speeds (65mph) with the heat dial staying solid in the center. Im even getting a lil lead foot here and there, drifting to mid 70s staying at the top of 2nd and casually engaging the turbo for “highway merging”. :) Great replacement, simple install, no issues to date! 5 stars!

I can't say enough good things about this product. It is very well made, definitely an upgrade over the plastic OEM one I replaced on my Jeep Cherokee. It's also a great value compared to the OEM replacement. The cast aluminum housing is solid, and the mating surface with the engine is perfectly machined so that coolant leaks are not an issue. One unusual thing is that when installed, the discharge tube comes off at a slightly different angle from the OEM. It was not a problem though since it attaches to the flexible rubber radiator hose that accommodated the difference. Although my dashboard temperature gauge was operating normally, the dreaded "check engine" light was on and the codes indicated an engine temperature problem. I also noticed that my gas mileage had deteriorated significantly. Shortly after I installed this new thermostat, the light went off on its own, I didn't even need to reset it. My gas mileage also returned to its normal level.

The fit is perfect. Works great, good quality no more problems.

Decidí cambiar la carcasa original por esta pieza de aluminio para asegurar una durabilidad muy superior en comparación con las de plástico, que suelen dañarse con el tiempo, y la verdad es que los materiales me parecieron excelentes. Lo que más me gustó y facilitó el trabajo es que viene completamente lista para instalar: ya incluye su O-ring (empaque) y viene preaceitado, lo que permite que realmente solo entres bajo el capó a hacer el cambio directo sin andar batallando buscando sellos por separado. El reemplazo en sí es muy sencillo. En mi caso, preferí no recuperar nada del anticongelante viejo y aproveché para rellenar todo el nivel con aditivo nuevo. Honestamente, es una refacción de aluminio que vale muchísimo la pena por lo completa y bien hecha que está.

Oh Nooooooo it not opensometimes gets stuck, doesn’t open!!!, and causes sudden high temperatures, which is very dangerous for the engine. You can lose your engine in seconds if you don’t notice your car’s temperature. I do not recommend it — it’s extremely dangerous.

I bought this a while ago and finally got around to replacing the old plastic one. Build quality is great, Fitment was perfect and it functions as it should.
