Zero Drop Meets Winter Boot
UPDATE APRIL 2025 After a full winter of heavy use I found the boots are comfortable, warm, and easy to walk long distances in. They are water resistant but not waterproof in standing water. If you need a good zero drop winter boot these are it unless you need 100% waterproof. UPDATE DECEMBER 2024 First use today for nearly two hours in 12 inches of wet snow blowing the driveway. My pants got very wet but my feet stayed dry and warm. They stretched a bit and fit even roomier in the toebox as I expected they would. Traction was excellent on snow, ice, and mix of both. They are light as a feather and easy to get around in. Very stable and comfortable zero drop platform as I had hoped. I am very happy with these boots! I ordered my usual shoe size 11 (44 EU) and the boots fit as expected. They are comfortable, flexible, and easy to walk in. The toebox is about the same width as my other barefoot shoes so I am happy with that. Putting them on and taking them off is a breeze with the quick laces. These would actually make for a good year around work boot if someone wanted to use them as such. I'm thinking these boots will be plenty warm come winter here in Michigan. Maybe I'll give an update after the snow starts flying.

Great choice for my snow-heavy area!
I have recently transitioned to barefoot-style shoes and have had a remarkable decrease in hip and foot pain. It took me a while to deicde on a pair of boots, but I finally chose these and I am so glad I did. Since I purchased these at the start of the year we have recieved roughly 8 feet (2.4 meters) of snow. Through all the shoveling, bus-stop-waiting, slush-trudging, and ice-chipping, my feet have been the only part of my body consistently warm and dry. The boots are not terribly heavy, but have a thick enough sole that your feet are able to stay warm even when standing in the snow for a while. They also aren't so thick that there is no flexibility, which makes walking fairly comfortable. The hooks for the laces make it easy to take boots on and off without tightening or loosening laces every time. My only complaint is that I may change the laces out for flat laces. Round laces untie themselves easily if not double-knotted, and I hate fighting frozen double-knots when I get in from the cold. I can't speak to the durability yet as I have only had them for a month and a half, but so far so good!

Toe box too narrow
I am disappointed with these, especially considering the price. The toe box is NOT wide enough, and the sole could be more flexible. I have many pairs of zero drop barefoot shoes and I know what good ones feel like. I should have not cut the tag off of these so I could return them in good conscience. They look good, and they are well made in terms of being waterproof and well insulated. But if you really need barefoot zero drop shoes (as I do), I do not recommend these.

Great in the snow!
I was looking for a barefoot, wide toe box snow boot when I came across these on sale. I wore these out during the blizzard of 2026 in February, here in New York. The sole is pretty flexible and zero-drop, while still providing excellent traction in snow, though I haven't walked on ice much with these, they seem like they would do a good job. My feet were kept very dry, with the only snow that got in was minimal and only through the top when in very deep snow. They kept my feet warm enough, though I wonder how long the synthetic lining will hold up (at this price point, I wouldn't expect real shearling of course). While I wouldn't describe the toe box as particularly wide, it is at least not the usual narrow, tapered toe box one would find in mainstream snow boots. Only reason why it is not 5 stars is the somewhat slim toe box for a 'barefoot' boot. I would recommend these to anyone who wants good value snow boots that provide the stability of zero-drop soles, while still having good traction.

Great for the snow
These are comfortable to start but their performance makes them worth the price. I was so glad I went with these when I had to get boots to work in snowy conditions. Had these on for 10hrs a day for about a week outside in the snow and for the most part they kept my feet dry. Where co-workers would say that they had to blow dry their boots each night these felt just a bit moist and would be dry by morning. I thought I would have to size up to double up on socks but they are a bit spacious and wide so didn't need to after all. Ultimately a great boot.

Head and Shoulders Better
After ordering and returning two other cheaper brand zero drop boots, I decided to spend more and get these. You really get what you pay for. The Xero winter boots are far more foot fitting, stable and warm. Some reviews mention detaching soles. So far so good. This is my 3rd pair of Xero shoes/boots and I'm now a true believer in thebrand.

My feet were warm and comfortable for extended periods in sub zero weather and were very slip free.
Exceptional warmth and comfort.

Late winter tested = Perfect!
I tried two other brands (Keen, Vivobarefoot) and was about to give up finding an insulated waterPROOF, VEGAN (Keen. What a nightmare), barefoot winter boot (Vivobarefoot, not at all insulated). I've been in barefoot shoes for over a decade and every winter... forced into outdoor vegan, HEAVY, binding, traditional boots. This year I once again looked for vegan options. This boot is truly insulated! I've walked in city sleet, snow, and an early spring squall. My water 'repellent' coat caved and I arrived home soggy EXCEPT my feet. Warm and dry. Most of all enjoying barefoot comfort. I look forward to being a long term customer of Xero Shoes! I will also point out I bought men's as they tend to be wider and I have wide feet and like to layer socks when the temps drop into the teens. I don't know how wide women's boots are but it's my experience they are too narrow for me. If you have wide feet and plan to layer sock you may want to contact Xero before you order or buy men's.

Good and comfortable fit, in the beginning they where waterproof, but quickly they loose this ability where the boot bends.

I’ve purchased and regrettably had to return a number of pairs of barefoot shoes - these I have kept! Things to know about these boots: - They claim to be waterproof - and they actually are! You can stand in a 2cm puddle and still have dry socks. - They are soft and easy to put on/take off. - They are zero drop as advertised. - They have a removable inner sole so if you want to feel more of the ground at the expense of removing a thermal layer so potentially having colder feet, you can. I’ve left them in and have toasty warm feet. - The sizing is accurate for normal UK shoe sizes. I have zero complaints (except the high price, but this seems to be a theme on barefoot shoes).

These boots are comfortable, however from day one of purchasing these boots the right boot has always let water in. The smallest puddle makes my right sock wet. Very disappointing at over £100. Update: after 5 months both boots now let water in!
