Along for the Ride: Ride or Die Romances

Speechless
No fancy wordy review. I was completely hooked on the storyline, the brothers, Leana… I read half of this book before even realizing it was 2:00am, but I couldn’t bring myself to put it down so I shamelessly lost a night of sleep to finish it. This is the third of the Ride of Die standalones that I’ve read. Across State Lines shook me right out of my book slump, but Gentry, Karson, and Leana were SO entertaining, deep, complicated, fun, and so well-fleshed out that I wanted to kick my feet in the air every time their relationships progressed. This is going down as one of my favorite romances to date! Bless you Lauren, bless you!

This book is worth the read and the listen!
In most why choose romances, I struggle to find my favorites amongst the male love interests, but Karson is an easy choice for me. Gentry is older and very brooding. And, while I love his protectiveness over his little Wanderer, his character is far too serious for my liking. Karson, on the other-hand, takes nothing serious at all. He is wholeheartedly the comic relief in this story and I love every minute of it. His infatuation with his little thief is so different than that of his brother, and so much more dark and depraved. One thing I did like about this relationship dynamic is that Gentry doesn't want to share Leana, but does so because it's what she wants. He is fully jealous of his brother's relationship with her and it even becomes competitive at times. Good for Leana!

Good but not great
I love dark romances and they never seem to be dark ENOUGH so I gave this one a spot. The male main characters are a psychopath and a sociopath, clinically diagnosed. They unalive people not only for money, but for pleasure. It’s more than a lifestyle to them. IT’s EVERYTHING.The female main character is a drug addict who was (yllauxes) abused by her mothers boyfriend and, no surprise here, her mother didn’t believe her and took the man’s side. She ran away from home where a man took her in and got her hooked on drugs. She’s escaping him and stealing a car when she runs into our crazy duo. This book is not for the faint of heart. It has dark, disturbing themes (that I personally liked) and it’s messed up, really messed up. The reason it didn’t get a higher rating is because the storyline was unbelievable. Two cold blooded killers who are literally certifiable change within a week because of one little woman? Nope. Wouldn’t happen. Otherwise, it was a good book!

Absolutely fantastic book!
This book sucked me in from the very beginning and didn't spit me out until the very end. I could not put this book down.It was the perfect combination of DARKNESS, humor, story, and SPICE. this one is a scorcher!!You meet Leana our FMC who has run away from a sucky home life. She is on the streets and just wants a safe place to stay. She meets Mickey who she thinks can give her that.Unfortunately she is sorely mistaken and he hooks her on drugs in order to keep her. Six years later she escapes, steals a car and decides to pick up a hitch hiker which ends up being two (ladies don't pick up hot tattooed hitchhikers ok).Our MMC's Gentry and Karson. I These brothers have been through a lot. Karson broke his brothers trust and landed him in prison. They have to work together to keep Karson alive and out of trouble, but they don't have to like it or trust each other. These sexy, naughty, deranged, psychopaths are serial unalivers who have a job to do when their van breaks down and their lives are changed forever when Lean decides to show them kindness the way no one has done for her and stop tohelp. They begin a journey together to California in which Leana, Gentry and Karson fight the pull they feel towards each other. She brings the brothers back together, finds herself and her darkness and finds the MMC's shred of humanity. The humor, banter, spice, and growth of these characters is ABSOLUTELY fantastic. I absolutely LOVED this book!

Spicy and dark
Read the triggers before you read this book. The story was good, some things seemed kind unnecessary but ended up helping the move along

Pitch Black Hitman Romance
📖 Along for the Ride by @laurenbielauthor🎙️ Narrated by @roxelana_vo @voice.of.Greg and @christianblackaudioStory: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 / 5Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ / 5Narration: 🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️ / 5Strap yourself in for this one. This is not a dark romance. The is a PITCH BLACK romance 🖤 (and dark romantic comedy 😂). There were several parts (Chapter 23) where I asked myself if I’m normal for REALLY enjoying this book… I’ve decided that I’m not 🙃, and kept reading.Karson and Gentry are a perfect golden retriever/black cat duo 🦮🐈⬛ and Leana is the one who focuses their crazy to manageable levels. I could read a series about these three and their misadventures around the country.I hate to compare works, but this book is what I hoped “Butcher and Blackbird” would be after seeing all the hype for a “serial killer romance”. If you read B&B, and could still stomach more, READ THIS!!🎧 The audiobook was done as a trio narration. The narrators were per 👏🏽 fect 👏🏽 ion 👏🏽 . Gregory Salinas personified Karson as a sarcastic, manic a hole. (I love the was he laughs during his dialogue.) Christian Black had that grumpy, DILF vibe down for Gentry. Roxelana Waters made me truly believe that Leana and I would be BFFs 👯♀️ There were so many LOL moments, if you enjoy dark humor.Loved this book, and it probably makes me a psycho. 😉

Dark romance
I loved this book! Leana runs from an abusive home situation. She ends up getting caught up with Gentry and Karson, hired killers. She is forced to stay with them once she witnesses their “line of work”. Slowly the broken three form a cohesive little trio. There are a lot of dynamics between them. Gentry is not impressed with his brother Karson. He went to jail for him to keep him safe and he seems like a screw up. Gentry fell for Leana and then claimed her as his own, but Karson forced his way into the mix. Gentry was gentle with her and Karson was very rough and she liked them both. It worked for them. Eventually the boys helped her get revenge on some people who wronged her along the way.

Great story!
Great story! Loved how it was fast paced. Probably would’ve liked more detail and dialogue during the smut scenes and more smut scenes 🤣Karson reminds me of Ted Bundy lolI read this book while listening to the audiobook.Great narration from both male narrators! The female narrator did a good job too but she sounded too old for the character she was narrating.

A great read, Gentry and Karson are 🔥 (check TWs)
I really enjoyed Hitched (my first read by this author) so I just knew I needed to read this one. The dynamic between Leana, Gentry and Karson was fantastic.Leana had a fire to her, even after all the horrible things life dealt her). She was strong, held her own with these two hit men who really pushed the boundaries of having a soul! But boy did these two melt (as much as they could) for her. The nicknames they gave her, their possessiveness and competitive nature was so fun. There was good character and relationship development between them all, with some great banter and explosive chemistry. Leana really pushed these two out of their comfort zones while she came into her own and deepened her self confidence and inner strength. I found myself laughing at their antics more than one. This one is a dark so make sure you check out the TWs before reading. I highly recommend this one if the tropes are up your alley!

4 stars
I’ve never read a hitch hiker book, if that’s what we’re actually labelling this. It’s well written and flows nicely, and the bond that builds between the characters is great. There’s just something missing, I just don’t feel pulled in, so that’s why it’s missing a star.
