You have to be Creative!
Recently, I was diagnosed with prediabetes. So I took everything sugary out of my diet, and I lost 25lbs in 6 weeks. I missed my sugary snacks and drinks so bad. Half of the sugar free options available taste horrible! So I got creative, and I hope you do too! This is worth it, if you are wishing for a boba TYPE drink. This is NOT boba, this is made with different ingredients so expect it to be different. The instructions don't tell you you CAN microwave your boba. I did 15 seconds and it came out great. With regular boba, I would always put my sugary pearls at the bottom of my cup, but for these I suggest laying them on top of your ice, because when they're ice cold, they have a nice bounce/chew to them. I drizzled sugar free caramel around my cup. I also drizzled about a teaspoon of the "milk tea" syrup. (I read in a review that the instructions came out too sweet to drink, and it's true) I added unsweetened vanilla almond milk and it came out great. Not perfect , but good enough to satisfy. I do prefer my pearls to be sugary though, and with my body not allowing it, I'm going to try to experiment and soak the pearls in a sugar free vanilla syrup ( the one i use for my coffee) to see if some of it might soak into the pearls. This also goes great with iced coffee! Remember it's definitely not the same, but if it's your only choice, make it GOOD!

I should have trusted the other reviews
Absolutely disgusting. I tried this both following the directions on the package and the directions from one of the other reviewers and both times I had to throw away my drink. And I hate wasting food, so if I couldn't choke it down, you know it's bad. 1. Flavor: this has the mildest hint of tea and an overwhelming amount of licorice. I love licorice. I'm the type of person who will buy a bag of just black jellybeans. Trust me when I say this is overwhelming. This has beyond absinthe levels of strong. This is choking on air levels of strong. Standard black milk tea has no business tasting this much like licorice. 2. Sweetness: I get that stevia is sweeter than sugar, I /get it./ But that's why recipes adjust levels of sweetness, Jan. Adding stevia in the same quantities as sugar means that the sweetness of one serving has the same combined sweetness of all of the Halloween candy you have ever eaten in your entire life. It feels like it can drill a hole directly into your tooth from sweetness. Nothing has any business being this sweet. Eating pure sugar is not this sweet. 3. Tapioca pearls: okay, this one was just mildly disappointing, but added to everything else was the rotten cherry on top of the moldy cake. These were not chewy, but more like the splitting texture of something with too much gelatin in it. Between the size, shape, and texture, I felt like I was eating frog spawn.

The tea is good!
The tea though everyone has already mentioned it is a bit sweet, but just add to taste and it's all good. The boba on the other hand, DO NOT BUY THIS AND EXPECT THE TEXTURE OF TAPIOCA PEARLS. You will be so disappointed. The texture is really not good.

The measuring instructions are wrong on the bottle
So, lots of people in the reviews have mentioned how overly sweet this product is. The packaging says to use 3 TBS which is 3 tablespoons to 8 oz of milk. In actuality, it should read 3 tsp which is 3 teaspoons. I could tell something was wrong with the measurements because a 10 oz bottle of syrup couldn't make 21 servings of 3 tablespoons each, but the math works out perfectly for 21 servings of 3 teaspoons each. I hope the manufacturer corrects the packaging. Other than the measuring instructions being wrong, I really like this product. It reminds me of Thai iced tea. I did, however, only receive 20 packages of boba pearls when there should be 21. I'll likely order this product again, but will know now how much to use!

Try with Tea and Heavy Whipping Cream or Creamer
Normally I'm too lazy to leave reviews but once I saw the reviews I had to leave my positive experience (please don't discontinue this product, Keto Naturals!) I can't believe the bad reviews, this stuff does taste like milk tea to me -- specifically milk tea flavor btw, the base tea flavor. Disclaimer, this is coming from someone who's not a fan of all this company's products. I can't deny, some of thier stuff is bland, but this isn't one of them. Seeing the reviews, I feel bad, because sometimes people are being unfair with this company. I think it's unfair to say "it doesn't taste like the store." Ummm yeah what do you expect? It's a keto substitute, and comments like these make it obvious that someone has not been doing keto long enough to understand that products without sugar won't taste EXACTLY THE SAME as thing MADE WITH SUGAR. Same thing as things that are pink are not the same color as things that are orange -_- like cmon. Store boba is made with sugar and sometimes milk, and flavorings such as taro are derived from very starchy ingredients or sugary ingredients like fruits. This is very similar to milk tea, honestly the perfect substitute in my opinion. That goes for the jellies as well, I was surprised at how perfect a substitute they were for tapioca. They are flavorless and gelatin like in texture, with that same tapioca "chew". The sweetness of the syrup is not too sweet to me but I'm very much used to artificial sweeteners, which for stevia is 150-450 times sweeter than sucrose. That all being said, one thing I've done way before finding this is perfecting my own keto milk tea. For this product, instead of using milk like the instructions say, I use prefer tea. Now you think that defeats the whole purpose, having to sit there and make it, but I personally think it tastes better versus putting in milk. The milk tastes great don't get me wrong but I like this better. This is also my method for making keto milk tea even without the flavoring. What you'll need: - Water (1.5 cups) - This Boba Flavoring - 2+ tbsp Heavy whipping cream/**heavy whipping cream powder/coffee creamer/Coconut oil powder - 2-3 tea bags (decaf) black or green I steep two tea bags of decaf black or green tea in about 1.5 cups of water (I'm not a fancy tea person so just microwave it.) for 2 minutes. I let it oversteep, I just leave it in there. **If you're using heaving whipping cream powder (which is what I prefer) then you'll want to mix it in while it's hot. 2 tbps/scoops or more (I've done up to 4tbsp, for more of a milky taste). The best option for getting that milk taste is using heavy whipping cream because creamer is more a diluted taste, but if dairy free you can try a dairy free creamer or maybe even coconut milk/cream or almond milk. It won't be the same taste, though. Coco oil powder is a great HWC powder alternative. Then let cool. It's best to put in the fridge to give it time to cool, if you add ice to it it'll dilute it too much. But if you want to drink it asap, do 3 bags of tea and use a ton of ice to stir it in, otherwise the ice will just melt. I've done it this way and I literally had to use a bowl, streamer, and funnel lol. Then once it's cooled stir in this boba flavoring or other flavorings/syrups (I use taro essences/extracts from online and my local store, if not using this, or the thai flavor they have.) Test 1 tbsp at a time for your sweetness level. Add ice if you want and you're done! Again this is my method for milk tea, which tastes good with or without this but this definitely has a great milk tea taste in my opinion. Keep in mind, this method above gives it more of an authentic milk TEA taste, not the thicker type drinks. if you want that more milkshake or smoothie like consistency (Like something like Kung Fu Tea), then you'll need to have a blender and blend using different ingredients high in fat. (Like coconut milk, heavy whipping cream/HWC powder/Avacado/high fat keto ice cream) along with ice and this boba flavoring/flavoring extracts, like you would a milkshake. Those milkshake/smoothie types you get at the store use things like condensed milk and flavor powder and milk powder, there's no tea involved in those.

Tastless boba-misleading
The experience of boba tea is ruined, is not there, as the boba has no flavor. The syrup has the flavor but even if is you soak the boba in the syrup overnight, it still does not absorb the flavor. I will not buy this product again, it is trash. I gave it a two because the syrup does give the tea flavor. Yuk!

How to make the perfect sugar free/low carb Boba milk tea
So I bought this and I remembered some reviews saying you need to doctor this. I have tried it, finally, multiple times and multiple ways. As a type 1 diabetic I can say it does not spike my blood sugar and is pretty close to the real deal. My best way: tall glass, half a bag of pearls, 5 or 6 ice cubes, fill the rest of 1/3 of the glass with prepared black tea, 1 Tbsp of the liquid sweetener (boba milk), fill the rest with unsweetened almond milk... i make it with an Almond Cow almond milk machine. Stir. The ice makes the boba have the right texture.
