Neff hide and slide oven
Excellent cooker, very stylish and clearly a quality item, be aware though that it is 16amp and not the usual 32 amp supply so some rewriting will be usually be required which I was not aware of until I looked at the lead coming out of it, and as it's much thinner than the standard cooker cable I had a real job finding the information for ampage rating. Well worth the effort of doing it as much lower electric bills to come as AA rated. Easy to use, and the hide and slide door makes it much safer (I am disabled so this is a fantastic innovative addition to an already wonderful cooker).

That fold away door! Wow!
Just what my little lady wanted as we have a galley type kitchen so space is premium. Still getting used to all the different settings but has made a big difference to her baking skills. Cheers

Neff Oven - Is it what it’s supposed to be.
The oven appears OK but I am suspicious about its origins. It was not packaged in a Neff carton unlike other Neff products I have bought (Integrated Microwave and Induction Hob and it does not have the manufacturers serial number on the inside of the door as the instructions say it should not anywhere else on the item. This makes me worry as to whether it is a genuine item or whether it’s a gray import.

Never Again Neff
Didn’t start off too well as the oven wouldn’t work when it was first installed. We had to wait a couple of weeks for an engineer to call and reset it.It was fine then for a while until the steam action packed in. (I’d only used it 2-3 times!)Biggest nightmare however is the oven door. Once it gets dirty between the inner and outer glass panels you can’t clean it! We asked the retailer where we bought it how we could remove the door (after scrutinising the manual for ages) and she said “forget it”! She told us we needed a man to do it for us and gave us a phone number for a very nice chap who called out and used You Tube videos to help him get the oven off, apart, reassembled and put back in place. It took over an hour but he was very kind and only charged us €50.6 weeks later I was trying to wrestle the turkey back into the oven and spilled the juices onto the oven floor and down the front of the appliance. Closed the door then only to see all the greasy mess dribble down inside my lovely clean door! I was horrified.I phoned the retailer to ask for the guys number as I’d lost contacts on my phone when it packed in and she said she had no memory of who the guy was. Sounds to me like the guy told her to never send him to a house where they had a hide & slide oven again! So we were directed to the nearest service engineers for Neff and their minimum call out fee is €95. So that’s where we’re at. €95 every time you need to clear your oven door!Never Again Neff! …… My own fault for not reading reviews before buying. You live and learn.

Good oven let down by amateur programming
The physical design of the oven is good: heats quickly, even heat distribution, slide&hide door works well (although nightmare to clean when water gets inside the door). But the user experience is v frustrating bc of basic electronic design-flaws and at this price point that is not acceptable:1) setting the timer is slow bc it starts counting up from 1sec in 1 sec increments then jumps to 15sec increments at a much faster pace meaning only a ninja could hit a real-world time setting first attempt. The starting point should be sensible eg. 1 minute with 1 minute increments.2) the pcb doesn't have a backup battery (a v cheap addition, industry standard) which means if the electric trips you've lost all your settings. It takes ages to reset the clock not helped by the starting year being 2014! Have they really not developed the software since then?3) it wont accept button presses within 500ms so if you can't flick through menus quickly when you're familiar with the oven. I'm sure it's 'debouncing logic', but it's poorly implemented.4) you want to switch from the grill to the oven, so you press home to change the mode then it says "to change the setting stop the operation by pressing [play]", so you press the [play] button but that just clears the message then you need to press it again..... seems like the oven is being obtuse

Excellent but flawed
I've been using this oven for over a year now so I think I'm qualified to do a review (we had 2 installed). As an oven it is excellent - relatively easy to program and with many cooking options (I tend to use just 3 or 4). The slide and hide is really good BUT I managed to break ours on one cooker just by shutting the door.Having said that the service was really good - came quickly and no quibble. My other problem with the door is more serious - it's way too easy to get spills to penetrate between the door outer and inner glass. I have had to remove two doors (one belonging to a friend) and take apart to clean the inner side of the door. I assure you this is a non-trivial exercise. I don't think it was a coincidence that the door that broke was the one I refitted. My other problem is with the grill. YOU CANT OPERATE THE GRILL WITH THE DOOR OPEN AND THEY DONT HAVE A PROPER GRILL PAN WITH A HANDLE BECAUSE OF THIS. Sorry if this sounds like a rant and I presume the door shutting issue is probably some rule about the energy rating but it's incredibly annoying. I solved the problem by buying a cheap compatible grill pan with detachable handles and I also bought a frying pan with detachable handle for grilling the tops of omelettes for the kitchen and they are great.. I also have a thick kitchen towel because you cant really get hold of the grill pan or top shelf with oven gloves if you use the Neff provided shelf/pan.So I have now achieved a stable relationship with my Neff ovens and we are hopefully set for a long and happy life together. We also have a Neff gas hob and microwave and they are great.
