SPYPOINT Flex G-36 Cellular Trail Camera, 36MP Photos and 1080p Videos w/Sound, GPS Enabled, Dual-Sim LTE Connectivity, 100' Flash & Detection Range

SpyPoint has come along way in a few years. The old micro cameras use to last about 2 years and quit. Between the updates and abuse from the weather, I went to Tactacam. But I saw these and decided to give them another try. Wow! These work nice, quick response from camera to phone, seem well built, good picture quality and affordable. I’ve attached a picture of a bobcat on my farm, no it’s NOT AI! Lol the coyote is a nighttime pic. I’d definitely buy again

So far, after five days of use, I am very pleased with the operation of these Spypoint Flex G-36 trailcams. YMMV depending on your particular use case. In my case I purchased two of these to use as security cameras at my seasonal campground cabin. From November thru March the campground is closed and there is no electricity. Hence I lose the use of my 5G router and Ring cameras. I positioned one on my front porch monitoring the entry door and one inside the cabin. My goal was to have a product that would detect motion as well as, in the absence of motion, periodically send me an image to assure me they were working. Initial setup was straight forward per the directions. Be patient when you turn them on while they establish their cell signal. May take several minutes while it does so. Their cellphone app (IPhone/IOS in my case) is excellent and provides good information on the status of each camera(eg. Signal and battery strengths, time of most recent communications, and the images themselves. My objective is to have these operate for as long as possible (e.g. at least three months) on the set of eight Energizer Lithium AA I installed into each cam. Mid-winter I plan to visit the cabin and if needed install a fresh set of batteries. To maximize battery life while meeting my security needs, I am using the following settings: Camera Mode is set to "Time Lapse +". Motion Delay is set to "1 minute". Multishot is set to "1". Sensitivity is set to "low" Time Lapse is set to "16 hours, 0 minutes". SD Photo Resolution is set to "High". With these settings: If motion is detected (i.e. an intruder) I will immediately receive a notification and see the image(s) in the app. In the absence of a motion triggered event; every sixteen hours each camera takes a photo, I am notified by the app, and able to view the images in the app Gallery. I chose an interval of sixteen hours to assure I receive at least one daylight and one nighttime image a day. The timing of the first set of time lapse images the cameras took were rather random but after that I have been receiving their images like clockwork exactly every sixteen hours. Note that there is no "on demand" way to remotely trigger a photo. Hence the Timelapse+ feature is a good work around. In my location, which is not known for good cell signal, the Signal strength has been consistently 90-100%. After five days of use and 20+ images taken and transmitted to me by each camera, their battery strength remains at 100%. I am using their Free Plan which provides 100 images per month per camera. Plan on triggering approx 15-20 images during initial setup and testing. After setup, I did test them by walking onto the porch and entering my cabin. Both cameras detected me and sent a notification and my selfie(lol) to Spypoint and in turn my cellphone. Given my Timelapse settings above, I anticipate each camera will take approx 45 images per month. Well within the free monthly allotment of 100. So far the camera on the porch has not experienced any false triggers due to blowing trees, falling leaves, etc. Refer to the attached images. Note the images also include the temperature. In summary, for my particular needs, this has proven to be an excellent low cost solution as compared to much higher end trailcams such as the Reconyx product line(up to $600). Having these in place is certainly providing me peace of mind. UPDATE: After 16 days, both continue to perform reliably. Signal strength has been 90-100% and Battery status has remained at 100%. Have been getting notifications and images every 16 hours per the Timelapse+ settings listed above. No motion triggered events as yet. (A good thing in my case.). My understanding is Lithium batteries maintain a constant voltage until almost depleted. That could account for the battery status remaining solid at 100% so far. Will monitor this over time. But very please so far. Oddly, one of the cameras started reporting its GPS location after about one week. The other still not reporting GPS data. Note worthy but not a concern for me since I know where the cameras are. UPDATE 3/29/2025: After FIVE MONTHS of operation, both continue to perform reliably. Signal strength has been 90-100% and Battery status has remained at 100%. Have continued getting notifications and images every 16 hours per the Timelapse+ settings listed above. I open my cabin for the season next week. These have successfully served their purpose. So will be using these as a backup to my Ring cameras in case I lose electricity or router connectivity during the April-October campground season. Will be interesting to see how long the batteries continue to last.

I purchased a twin pack. One camera works perfectly, the other would not power up. I returned both and reordered. 2nd set worked very well. I initially just ran batteries, and in a heavily trafficked area, it used them up. I purchased a 3rd party lithium battery and made my own solar panel hookup. it has worked great, maintaining a 100% battery.

I left some of these g-36 cameras at a remote property about four months ago. They mostly work well, the video is good quality day and night. I paired them with lithium battery packs and they have lasted through some -20F weather so far. My only complaint is that I use these for videos, and I’ve had issues downloading a few of them with one of the cameras despite having 100% battery and 90% cell reception. I also had a glitch for a while where a camera was sending a video preview at every sync even though I wasn’t requesting it, which burned through my free plan really fast. I contacted customer service for both issues and they aren’t very helpful. I was able to correct both issues by remotely updating firmware and they’ve been working great ever since. The app works decent and it is nice getting notifications when you’ve got new videos to preview.

There is nothing positive to say about these, let alone SPYPOINT. This is the second set of SPYPOINT cameras my wife bought. The first set, one had a faulty power switch rendering the camera absolutely useless, and the other camera couldn't accept the Micro SD card (and yes it was properly inserted, that's very hard to do wrong unless you brute force it in which breaks everything), rendering it equally useless. The second set, while the power switches work and the Micro SD card slots accepted the cards, neither camera is taking pictures. I downloaded the app and changed sensitivity settings thinking that would trigger the cameras to take pictures, but alas, that didn't help either. On top of that, these cameras only accept SD or SDHC, so your most common and high capacity SDXC cards are incompatible and won't work either; fortunately I had SDHCs on hand to put in these trash devices. But even using the proper SD card, the cameras still don't work. They don't even take any pictures. Because the cameras weren't functioning, I downloaded and read the manual, as I normally do when there's something I need to know but don't know. The manual, AND THEIR APP, told me to turn the cameras off, make the changes to my camera settings, and turn the cameras back on and the settings would take effect. So that's what I did, but the cameras still wouldn't function. Talking to customer service because I still couldn't get these trash devices to function, they contradicted the manual saying that it's scheduled to sync at 1600 and then the settings would take effect. No, it's really not, because I changed that setting too, it's to sync with the servers at startup AND at 1200 per my settings. So their customer service, isn't. Overall this is among the absolute worst of products I've ever used and SPYPOINT won't even stand behind their product, so basically, buying any SPYPOINT product is an absolute waste of time and money. Don't buy SPYPOINT. Do some research. And do NOT buy SPYPOINT. Their product is trash (literally) and their customer service/support is of no help.

Easy to get started, easy app, only trail cam with a free cellular photo plan, affordable cameras, good customer service line. I’m really happy with these cameras and will definitely get more with this deal going on. I spent so much time researching trail cams and spy point was the only company that offered a free cellular photo option. This is my first trial camera so I’m not looking for some monthly subscription right off the bat. The cameras are great though so far! The app is super easy to connect them and view your photos. It sends you instant notifications when animals go by. The photos are better quality than I expected to. Super happy with this purchase, I will get more and recommend to friends.

Really impressed with the Flex G-36 Cellular Trail Camera. This is my first cellular camera and I will be buying another in the future. The price is great and they are super easy to use and set up. I was worried about the cell reception in the area I was in, but that has not been a problem. The ability to switch carriers to use the best signal is a great feature. I went with the unlimited plan to test it out and am very happy as I already have over 1,000 pics in two weeks. If you don't want a plan you can get 100 pics for free / month. This might be good in a really slow area but if you have daily activity you will want more. Features I like: 1) you can request full HD pics if you really want to get a better version of the photo. 2) you can set how often the camera sends you pics. It can be as much as every pic or 1 time / day. I went with 6x per day. 3) Easy to set up and get connected on your phone. You can also log in on your computer and view the pictures as well. 4) Price point is good and not much more vs. non cellular camera. 5) You can do month to month photo plans. This is nice as I will not use this camera year round and don't want to be locked into a plan. Overall I am very happy and plan on adding another one this year.

The cameras work well when the batteries are good; however, the batteries don't last as long as I would like, and it requires a lot of batteries. It seems to work most places in the field but has to be able to pick up a cell tower and if it's in the middle of no where, it sometimes does not work at all or is iffy.

Caméra non fonctionnelle. Prix remboursé : 13euros de moins que le prix d'achat + 26 euros de frais de retour non remboursés. Une vraie arnaque !!

Le piège photo qui m'a été envoyé n'a pas fonctionné car c'était un modèle américain G-36 US totalement inutilisable en Europe.
