Do you Have to take plastic of the Decon

This is RB the manufacturers of d-CON®. Mice will feed through the film that encapsulates the bait so it does not need to be removed.

Bait box entry tunnel looks too small for mouse/rat I saw going under closet door. Is there problem abandoning the bait box and just laying out bait?

I put it out without the box. I just make sure it's in a place that dogs or kids cant get to.

Do we unwrap the bait squares?

There is no need to unwrap the d-CON baits. The formulation utilizes 99 percent food grade ingredients, which makes this bait so attractive to mice, they will eat right through the wrapper. You can find more FAQs on the d-CON website.

Won’t the mice go somewhere in my house and die.. and stink??

Yes, they will go somewhere to die, hopefully outside, but many will die in the house. The dead mice often are found on the open floor and can be removed. The others die and dry out. We have used this product for several years with good results and the "odor", if any, will disappear quickly. We would not want to have to use kill traps and have to pick up the results.
