Smokey then sweet
The box and bottle says I'm classy and mysterious. For the price, quality, and longevity, this rendition of Parfum de Marly Carlisle is the way to go. The initial spray is like seasoned wood burning in a fireplace. Smokey and warm. This was intriguing. I wasn't sure how to feel. I prefer more of the fresh and clean scents but wanted to try something that has been highly recommended. Thank goodness for the dry down! The sweetness finally came through along with spices and other scents reminiscent of incense, smoke, apple, bergamot, and pink pepper. I'm thinking maceration would be a good idea for this. In the meantime, if you plan to wear this, spray about 60-90 minutes before your destination. The wearability will hold up and it just gets better and better with the dry down. Enjoy

Needs maturation for true experience
Do not judge Cassius when you first get it. Letting the fragrance mature (maturate) now for 4 months has made a huge difference. Wore it today. Projected strongly for the first 2 hours and has lasted 10+ hours on skin. Still a light skin scent 13 hours later. After 4 months of maturation there is no alcohol smell. Now smells well blended and rich. To think I paid $16.03 + tax, amazing deal. Will buy another bottle as a backup and let it maturate.

Fair scent, weak performance. To me, most of the other Alhambras were better.
A fairly decent dupe of Carlisle, but I found it lacked complexity & richness, and the performance was a bit weak. I wound up replacing this with Tafakhar by Ard Al Zaafaran, a richer and longer lasting scent IMO. This was not one a favorite from Alhambra - I've been far happier with several others.

As close as you can get...
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is a better clone of "Carlisle" than "Tafakhar" could ever hope to be...and is in-between "Carlisle" and "Mystery Tobacco". While it does have a similarity to "Red Tobacco", this is MUCH more wearable. "Red Tobacco" just wears you out after a while because even at one spray...it's SO powerful!! I've been wearing my first bottle of "Red Tobacco" less and less because of that, and wearing "Exclusif Tabac" and "Mystery Tobacco" more and more. I've still got a whole other 2019-batch bottle of RT in the closet...lol. Having just finished my last bottle of "Mystery Tobacco" I'm ready to move on from that fragrance and look to cheaper alternatives...and "Cassius" feels juuuuuuust right! It's not as bright in the opening as "Mystery Tobacco", but it also puts a niiiice smooth and sweet VANILLA tune into the fragrance that makes it AMAZING!! Hopefully this doesn't get discontinued like "Exclusif Tabac"...in fact....I better pick up a backup bottle just in case!! This is too good to miss out on.
