I really like the replacement remote for my Apple TV. I was so tired of using the difficult original remote. I have one of the first versions of Apple TV. 1842 model. The thin, flat hard to use version with a lightning cable. This remote is compatible. I never got used to the remote. I know that Apple was trying to be innovative, but this was a pain to use. I should have replaced it years ago. The Function 101 Bluetooth was affordable and very functional. The price is fair. I think if I had tried to get a replacement years ago, it would have been much more expensive. The remote setup was easy to complete. I quickly had the Apple TV and my tv completed. As a matter of fact, it was so easy I didn’t review the instructions closely. The one thing I noticed missing on the remote was an Apple TV home key. I reviewed the setup instructions carefully and found that the home key and control center were accessed by the “P” up and down arrows. I’m happy with the purchase. I wish I would have bought this sooner!

Wasn't a fan of the Apple remote. Wanted something similar to the Roku Remote and this works well. It has a few quirks like not having the button that takes you right back to the main menu (We still need the apple remote to occasionally close a hung app) and I'm still not sure what the "P" up and down are for, but for everyday use, its solid. It should be noted that it wanted to work via IR right out of the box and required a few extra steps to get the BT working. It was easy enough. We use this in the kitchen and its much easier to clean then the apple remote.

This is the remote that Apple should’ve shipped with the AppleTV. No more accidentally fast forwarding or rewinding half an hour due to the stupid touch pad. It’s a quality remote with the buttons you need and none that you don’t. The only drawback is it doesn’t adjust volume through the AppleTV and HDMI ARC instead forcing you to use infrared for volume control. A minor annoyance, but that’s why I docked it a star. I wish it had a microphone for Siri searches, but that’s nothing compared to being able to reliably fast forward and rewind.

The nice part of this remote is the size. We never loose it in the couch or elsewhere. The two issues we have are: - No Home button. This leaves the user needing to hit Menu multiple times to back out of an app and return to home screen. - It often disconnects and reconnects. While navigating around the remote stops working. A "Keyboard Disconnected" message appears in upper right corner of the screen. A few seconds later, "Keyboard Connected" appears and it's back. We've replaced batteries.

I have used our apple TV forever. The controller that comes with it has never worked right - and I have to first turn on my tv with another beamer and then diddle with the apple tv controller. This works great. Turn it on. Hit one button to wake up the Apple TV. Superstitiously push the on button to get the TV to talk to the Apple TV. Everything else is simple. My dog ate my old one and I immediately bought a new one. Definitely worth the money. BTW - I have a Samsung TV. If you don't get all the way up to the top level menu and then turn it off (in other words, you let it go to sleep), it's a pain to get it talk to the Apple TV again. Not the beamer's fault. But it you make sure you turn it off that way, everything works perfectly. Technology should NOT be that hard.

I bought this 3rd party Apple TV remote with Bluetooth because I was tired of the Siri Remote that came with my Apple TV. The Siri Remote was too sensitive and hard to use, especially for my parents who are not tech-savvy. This remote is so much better and easier to use. It works seamlessly with my Apple TV and has all the functions I need. The remote has a simple and ergonomic design, with solid buttons that are easy to press and navigate. Not a direct replacement, returns cost you. The biggest beef I have with this product is it won’t directly control Apple devices volume. That includes the Apple TV itself. My own set up has been optimized for CEC and this simply isn’t fit for that purpose. In some fairness, this is disclosed - but it’s buried and hidden at then end of a bullet pointed heading - didn’t show on my mobile, potentially due to font. But shame on me for assuming that a device marketed as an Apple TV remote replacement wouldn’t actually replace the remote’s core functionality. Not super happy that I have to pay $5 to return an item I bought on Amazon either, but again - you’re buying directly from the business. Really unhappy that it’s taken over two weeks and there’s not refund. Scummy business. AVOID.
