Use distilled / brita water filtered water
I have used the more pricey Philips and Tefal steam generator irons ranging from ยฃ150-ยฃ300, and I have to say I am equally impressed by this steam gen iron. It is lighter, thus giving the illusion it's less durable (to some) but we keep it out and not shoved away in a cupboard. Once the power is on, tank is full and the steam lever is turned upwards the steam is constant and won't go off unless you turn the lever downward. I haven't used the manual button because I prefer the latter The 2600w of steam is definitely as impressive as a Philips or Tefal 2600w steam generator As this was SUCH great value for money I think I don't mind the spend to get the same result, without buying a well known brand. This was bought in an emergency as our normal iron broke a day before holiday and I had to wash and iron all clothes to pack them properly before leaving and needed it amazon-primed to us asap! Downside: I read though the reviews and yes (just like all steam generator irons) this also releases shots of limescale. I usually put the iron on, switch on the steam and press/rub over a tea towel before moving it to a garment so that it doesn't mark with limescale stains. My mum has the same issue with her very pricey Tefal steam gen iron, she now uses only filtered or distilled water to keep blockages to a minimum and her iron newer for longer. I haven't been too bothered as this iron is still new; but have also purchased a brita water filter so might start doing the same with my steam gen iron too to keep the splurges of limescale to a minimum. Having used so many of these irons, this is inevitable in its lifecycle. So don't forget to clean it. If anyone can share how they cleaned theirs that'd be a great help. I hope this helps somewhat, and after a few bad reviews I thought I'd chance this and am VERY happy with the payoff. Quick ironing, lots of steam, easy to use and starts generating right away. Oh... It has also been super effective with the plate on low heat and our business suits whilst hung up.

Worth the money you're paying for it
Great iron, does the trick, definitely worth the money if you are looking for a cheap steam iron that's still good. You could obviously get better ones but you'll be paying ยฃ200-ยฃ300 for those.

Brilliant!
This is the first steam generator iron I've ever bought and wow! It was delivered quickly, I even got a text telling me what time it was coming! I opened it straight away to try it and I have actually been looking for things to iron! It speeds through the creases and I got my ironing done in half the time! It is light weight and glides smoothly. I would seriously recommend this as a great iron. It was a bargain price and so much cheaper than the others and having read some of the other reviews I was a little unsure but I love it. I hope it lives up to the weekly mountain of ironing I accumulate!

ok for price, did not last more than 6 months
We've used more expensive Steam generator Irons and once you have started using them you never want to go back to a normal Iron. When my last one give up the ghost after several years of heavy use. We thought about giving this cheaper one a try as we needed a quick "short term" replacement. The plan being to keep this as a spare, however we are so pleased with it we have decided to keep it as our primary Iron. Of course the build is what you would expect for the price, and we do wonder how long it will last with heavy use, however for the price we can't complain and so far after several weeks of us we have not found any issues and it Irons wonderfully. Stopped working after 6 months, handle started heating up, now wont power up with out fusing the whole house, seems unsafe, ok for the price.

Running out of steam!
This is my second purchase of this iron, the 1st iron conked out just after a year! The water feeder pipe is covered with cord to I presume strengthen the pipe, however the material/woven cord became loose , causing the pipe to bend & the water did not flow properly, also the steam becomes very weak & in the end nothing. Why did I purchase another then, the price! Steam irons are far superior to a normal iron. However I have owned this new 1 for a few 4/5 months, the steam is not as strong, in fact I have to iron some things on both sides, which wasn't needed when the iron was new. If the water tank is removed to fill then it is very temperamental to get back on correctly so the water flows. I am now saving for another more expensive steam iron as I expect this one to last just over a year. I use my iron weekly & iron for 2/3 hours. You get what you pay for

ABSOLUTELY OVER THE MOON WITH THIS IRON
Amazing product, irons like it's slicing through butter. Can't believe for this price it does exactly the same as any iron more than double the price. Read all reviews on irons of all prices and basically all say the same, works from start or doesn't, this is the same risk you take when purchasing any electrical goods. Spits water etc etc. This iron works, yes it sometimes spits water, it's a steam iron, I fully expected this it does not affect the performance or clothes in any way. DO NOT PAY ANY MORE FOR AN IRON WHICH WILL DO EXACTLY THE SAME JOB AS THIS WONDERFUL PRODUCT. I iron for 5 people and has cut my ironing time at least by half.

Great value for money.
We are now on our third steam generator iron, they only last for a year or two. The two predecessors have been a medium priced one and an expensive one. With this Quest iron include they have all worked well in their operations, with no difference in the end ironed product, the only differences have been that the more expensive the iron the heavier it is, and might hold more water in their reservoirs. You might expect this to aid in the ironing but it has not appeared in the finished ironed articles. Currently this Quest iron has been the best value for money and when we replace it, it will most likely be with this or a similar valued product.

Quest Steam Generator Iron
It works well but no better than my old steam iron, and is a lot bulkier so needs far more storage space. It is also very precarious when balanced on the end of my ironing board. 2 April 2016. I would like to add to my review. WIthin months of my purchase the fabric covering the cable from the base to the iron started to fray I contacted the seller who said it was OK and would not affect the operation of the iron. I was not happy but had to acept their explanation. I am a single woman of 71 and therefore do not use this product as often as a family would and now it has stopped producing steam despite using filtered water since purchase and also the purple part joining the cable to the iron has pulled away I am definitely not hapy with this product and would have expected it to last more than 2 years 3 months
