Very impressed with this drive. It is extremely fast for transferring large files and the compact size makes it easy to carry around. Feels well built and reliable. A great portable storage option from SanDisk.

Fast, durable, and great customer serviceI got the SanDisk 2TB Extreme portable SSD mainly because the price was really good for this speed and capacity. Before buying, I heard about an issue in one of the older versions of this drive where it could suddenly fail. I contacted SanDisk directly, and they confirmed that my model is not affected by that problem. The drive itself is super fast—copying big files is quick, and it works perfectly with my laptop over USB-C. I also like the rugged design and IP65 rating, so I don’t have to worry much about dust or a bit of water. What impressed me most was SanDisk’s support—they replied to my questions quickly and clearly, which made me feel confident about the purchase. So far, it’s been reliable, and I’m very happy with it.

These SanDisk Extreme Portable SSDs are well designed and look great as well as being small and extremely functional. I have found no flaws in my using of them. However, as with all drives, you don’t get the stated 2 TB, 1 TB as stated, but slightly less. This could be considered a scam, but is due to the way manufacturers of drives and operating systems measure storage. Manufacturers use a decimal (base-10) system to market storage (1 TB = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes), but computers use a binary (base-2) system to calculate it (1 TB = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes). A terabyte is actually 1,000,000,000,000 bytes, but the operating system reads in 1024KB blocks so you end up with it reporting only 931GB and you "lose" 69GB in the conversion. Thus with a 2TB drive it only offers 1862GB, or 1.8TB rounded. There of one may not get quite what you thought you might onto your SSD drives. That said, these little SanDisk drives are great, if but a little expensive. My only criticism would be for a label area to mark them up and easily identify the drive without having to plug them in. Of course one can simple place a sticker on them and mark it accordingly, but it does spoil the aesthetics a little.

Great device, actually runs at advertised speeds, which is little short of a miracle, one downside, price increase of 40% since January?, seriously?, whats this excuse ? Covid, Brexit, Putin,? Wow, just wow

Brilliant, can't fault the drive and it gets decent speeds. It's a redemption from the dodgy SD cards this company manufacture. Oddly I get quicker speeds using the USB 3 instead of the USB C but it's not much so don't let that be a deal breaker

This has so far been a fast and reliable drive - just what I need for backing up my computer in a short amount of time.

Desde que comencé a usar el SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD de 2 TB he quedado muy satisfecho. En primer lugar, su construcción es excelente: combina una carcasa robusta que resiste el uso duro con una ligereza que lo hace muy cómodo de transportar. No importa si lo usas en casa, para llevar de viaje o entre diferentes espacios de trabajo. La velocidad de transferencia es muy destacable. Cuando lo conectas a un puerto USB-C de alta velocidad cumple con lo que promete: mover archivos pesados es rápido, editar directamente desde el disco no supone un problema, y la latencia es mínima. Claro que, en operaciones muy prolongadas, se nota un ligero calentamiento, pero no lo suficiente como para que afecte el uso normal. Otra ventaja que valoro mucho es la seguridad que ofrece: viene con cifrado por hardware y protección mediante contraseña, lo que me da tranquilidad al transportar datos sensibles. También me agrada que venga formateado en exFAT, lo que facilita usarlo indistintamente entre Windows y Mac sin tener que preocuparse demasiado por compatibilidades. En resumen, es un SSD portátil muy competente: mucha capacidad, buen rendimiento, durabilidad y funciones útiles. Si buscas almacenamiento externo rápido y confiable que acompañe bien tanto en rutas profesionales como en uso cotidiano, este SanDisk Extreme 2 TB es una excelente elección.
