YES NOT THE SIZE STATED BUT LAST OK CUT LOGS FOR 30 MINS

Battery dose it have 2 x 3000 batteries or 2x 1500 batteries

2 1500 batteries each battery runs the chainsaw for about 30 mins continuous cutting. great little chainsaw highly recommend it to you it will handle anything you want to cut down to size I would recomend you to ensure the cutting chain is well oiled.

After charging, does this work out of the box or do I have to do something first?

There are 2 chains? One already attached, one for spare. Is that right?

yes one attached as already comes assembled and one spare chain. Unit comes in case with 2 batteries, charger, gloves, goggles and a small amount of oil. Mine has been used frequently and does the job perfectly.
