Alright, I go through padlocks like they’re going out of fashion. I don’t treat them gently — they’re permanently exposed to the elements — so they tend to fail sooner rather than later. That said, the quality of this one compared to others is immediately noticeable. It’s one of those moments where you think, “Oh yeah, this is actually nice to use.” The lock has a reassuring weight to it — solid and heavy-duty — but not so much that it’s impractical. You wouldn’t want it in your pocket all day, but for a gate or outdoor use, it feels spot on. I bought this because my previous lock (also a Master Lock, but a more basic laminated style) had become stiff and awkward to open over time. This one is the complete opposite. The key goes in smoothly, turns easily, and it pops open cleanly and assertively — no forcing, no fiddling. That alone makes a big difference in daily use. Is it more expensive than you’d ideally like? Probably. Around £13 for a gate padlock feels a bit steep at first. But once you factor in ease of use, build quality, and reliability, it starts to make sense. After using it, my opinion on the price changed completely — I’d happily buy another one in a heartbeat. If it ever lets me down, I’ll update the review — but so far, I’m genuinely impressed. 👍

Seems to be holding up well with no signs of rust after a very wet winter. Cover for keyhole is a bit fiddly to fit tightly. Some discolouration of the black coating from UV, but really who cares? Overall feels solid and reliable.

Really good padlock, secure and hasn't rusted. Easy to open and use, doesn't stick like some other locks do. Feels solid without being too heavy.

Swapped out an old padlock that basically rusted itself shut outside and picked up one of these Master Locks. Needed something that could actually handle being out in the elements, especially with the non-stop rain we seem to get here. Happy to report it's been absolutely fine, locks and unlocks smoothly every time, no signs of seizing up yet. Feels really sturdy too. Spot on, does the job perfectly.

Bought to secure some ladder brackets on the wall of the house. It seems to be a nice solid lock, claims to be 10/10 for security level, but more importantly for me is weatherproof as the ladder and brackets are outside on the side of the house, not in a shed or garage. Also, no annoying plastic over the hasp stopping it from getting through the hole on the brackets. So many of the "weatherproof" locks claim to have a hasp the right diameter, but then when you look closer, they've given you the diameter of the metal and not of the plastic covering on top of it so they don't fit. No such issues with this lock, as there's no plastic covering on the hasp, which meant I could buy it relatively safe in the knowledge that it would fit straight away, and it did.

Es pesado y robusto. Entra muy suave, se ve que lleva un sistema de cierre distinto a los candados tradicionales, al girar la llave no salta, hay que tirar con la mano. Tiene pinta de muy buena calidad.
