I’ve used these for a while with no problem but my latest pair are really difficult - as if the magnets aren’t as strong?! Anyone else?!

I didn't use yet cause is not easy wearing these lashes... My magnets are quite soft

Are the magnets meant to be along the top of the lower lashes?

These eyelashes 'sandwich the natural large between them. So the lash lying on top of the natural lash has the little magnetic on the underneath and the bottom ones have the magnetic on the top - like you say. Then you press them together with the natural lash between them. Well, that's the theory anyway.

Why doesnt the top section of the applicator have a magnetic strip??

Mine had a clear sticker over it that I peeled off and was the magnet underneath

Do you need a special mascara or anything?

You dont need a mascara, as they are thick enough, they are reuseable so if you put mascara you'd have to take that off each time. They are more fluffy without any mascara.
