The Reolink App is the Star of the Show The hardware is robust, but the Reolink app is what makes this system fantastic to use daily. It is lightning-fast to load and incredibly intuitive. As a business owner, I need flexibility, and the app allows for deep, camera-by-camera customization. I can easily jump in and tweak the settings for each of the six cameras individually. Whether it’s setting up specific scheduling for when the business is closed, adjusting the motion zones to avoid false triggers from the street, or configuring the spotlight and siren alarms, it all takes just a few taps. Smart Detection That Actually Works The AI smart detection for people and vehicles is highly accurate. I don't get bombarded with false alerts every time a shadow moves or a bird flies past. I only get notified when something relevant happens, and having the two-way audio feature means I can communicate with delivery drivers or warn off trespassers directly from my phone. Final Verdict For commercial premises, you need a system you can trust. This Reolink 12MP setup delivers professional-grade hardware backed by an incredibly responsive and customizable app. It provides complete peace of mind and total control. Highly recommended!

Easy to install, run an Ethernet cable from the NVR to the camera and it all worked straight away no issues. Image is very clear and can make out faces easily. The detection sensitivity needs a bit of playing with depending on camera location, but it’s great once dialed in, receiving very few false positives (usually only when raining and droplets sit on the lense) The spot light isn’t crazy bright but certainly enough to light a pitch black alley way for me to walk down without tripping over anything. Integrated with Home Assistant very easily.

Very high resolution, so much so that the rest of my Reolink system couldn't process the steam at that resolution, I had to downgrade the "clear" Stream on this camera from 4512x2512 to 3840x2160. Now I can view the clear live feed on my home computer. Before I downgraded, the system was still happily recording at 4512x2512, I just couldn't live stream it to my PC at that rate. Also worth mentioning: I already had 4 cameras, this was bought as an extra camera. When I came to add this camera as a new device, it failed to install just using the Reolink software on my PC. When I plugged a monitor and wired mouse DIRECTLY INTO the NVR the new camera added itself almost immediately. I didn't have to do anything other than enable the "Add new Devices Automatically" option using the NVR interface. Reolink support were very helpful. The PC software gives you extra controls for this camera: activate the spotlight, activate the speaker, activate the siren, activate the Infra red lights. Just a small point, but If you select night-time 'COLOUR', that works really well in the half-light up to the point when it gets really dark, then you see nothing because the infra red cameras get disabled with that option. Alternatively, if you select night-time 'AUTO', then as it is going dark, the camera seems to switch to IR with its black and white image much too soon. The camera should stay on colour for a lot longer than it does and record a good colour image until almost total darkness. Reolink could improve this very easily.

Very impressed with this camera - fantastic picture quality and very easy to install / set up with the phone app and Mac client - settings are very easy to work out to get the desired quality of videos, setting up the recording schedule is also easy to do - very well built! Only down side is you can’t control the angle you want , you have to manually move camera to the desired position which isn’t a big issue but would be better if you could do via the app / client Highly recommend buying

So have had two of these RLC-1224A cameras for a few months now. The 12MP is massive so much so that I have it running out 8MP due to lack of storage on the 2TB drive (upgraded drive needed in my NVR). The night vision is good, I do not use the spot light as we have street lights. Moving objects are not so good a night but its good enough. My camera has a 4mm lens and I think Reolink should offer 2.8mm and 4mm for this camera. The 93° Horizontal and 49° Vertical is good if you want to focus on a particular area (e.g. back entrance) but it is not great when it comes to covering a larger area. For detection I did not want a camera with two lens i.e. 180° FOV as that would infringe on my neighbours privacy. But rather a single lens with 100-120° FOV so I have had to buy another camera (RLC-520A) with a 2.8mm lens for this. If you live in the UK in the 'average' house and are just getting started with CCTV and say want to cover front and back. I would say this camera is good for you but you will want to also add a camera with more FOV and use this to cover entrance ways where you want to be able to identify people which is where the 12MP really helps. Maybe two of these RLC-1224A (for identification) and two RLC-520A 2.8mm version (for detection) with the larger FOV would be an ideal setup covering back and front fully. Also get the NVR as they work well and are easy to setup and install. PoE is the way to go! But note you might have to upgrade the hard drive as 2TB does not go far when using 12MP cameras.

How good is this camera? Well the 8k 12MP footage is insanely good. So good I can't actually load it on my phone. Just can't get the network speed. On the phone for live view I have to use a lower 2k ish resolution which is fine because I know it's recording in 12mp because I can watch it from the NVR on my TV (4k) Have I ever actually watched it in 8k? Probably not but one day I might by an 8k TV. Really good bit of kit, no issues since set up, which tool 30 seconds. My only advice? Consider if the 4k or even 2k equivalent will be enough because they're brilliant too

I purchased a number of these units having been won over by the reviews. I also got a Reolink NVR and a Reolink panoramic camera. So, firstly, beware of the costings. After all the extras I spent only £200-300 less than I'd pay for a 5-8MP system from a brand that professional installers might fit. Having seen systems by these firms, I am not sure you will notice the difference between their resolution and the 12MP of this system. Be aware that the cable glands won't fit within the camera housing so you'll either need to poke them through your wall/soffit or buy a junction box (which Reolink cheekily charge you £27 ish for). The resolution of this camera is fairly good, especially during the day. In good light it is fairly intelligent and can determine quite accurately what has triggered an event (person, vehicle, animal). However, at night, it deteriorates significantly. Image quality is fair but the intelligence is really poor. The system will generally detect motion (depending on your sensitivity settings) but cannot accurately figure out if this is caused by a person or animal. It will usually just record it as un-specified motion. This may be fine if you just want a camera to act as a visible deterrent and to record 24/7. However, if you want to take advantage of the claimed AI features of the system such as push notifications and active deterrent lights lights and sirens then you really need it to know what it's looking at. If not, you'll either get no notifications or loads of them. If it's loads, you'll annoy yourself with the buzzing of your phone and could upset your neighbours with light and sirens through the night. I've battled with settings to try and get this fixed. I have liaised with Reolink's customer service. They friendly and responsive but they did also admit there's nothing they could do to help me improve detection. My recommendation: if you get this system because you're wanting the AI features, make sure you install it as soon as you get it and try it out at night. If you don't like it within 2-3 weeks get straight onto Reolink. Within a month you can get a refund (as long as your prepared to dismantle everything and have it sent back) *Updated with video. This (thankfully) is the milkman. The camera is about 10-12 feet from the gate. Sensitivity of motion detection is set to high. Smart detection sensitivity for Person is also set to high. The camera only recorded this as an "Any Motion" event and NOT as a Person. As a result, the camera like wasn't triggered and an alert was not triggered.*

Once set up it works flawlessly. I had installation issues because of where I wanted it located and I live in a bungalow but this is not an issue with the product, it's because I'm getting old and eyesight not as good. Having said that having had it set up for a while now it has never failed, lost connection, or any other issues. App works well with this product but the big bonus is no subscription

Har genom åren köpt alldeles för många kameror i alla prisklasser. Från Ezwiz och TP Link till Axis, men mest Hikvision. Pris och kvalitet följer varandra men även om Axis gör fantastiska kameror så motsvarar kanske inte nyttan priset för en privatperson. Ezwiz och TP Links billigaste modeller fungerar bra men tveklöst får man en bättre kamera (bild, gränssnitt, slippa påträngande reklam för dyra abonnemang) genom att gå upp till denna Reolinks prisnivå. Så här långt tycker jag nog att denna kamera förefaller vara tämligen optimal för privata behov. Den kommer att sitta utomhus och jag återkommer vid eventuellt nya insikter.

Merita 5 stelle per due motivi: 1) La risoluzione 12MP ad un costo accessibile è impareggiabile, e rende superfluo lo zoom in diverse circostanze. 2) NON invia informazioni (chissà quali?) a reti sparse chissà dove, e non inserisce pubblicità sgradevoli e martellanti sull’uso della cloud proprietaria (vedi YI che in queste cose è inquietante). Premetto che ho anche telecamere Tapo e YI. Ha altri pregi: è robusta, si vede pensata per uso più professionale (a discapito del peso); l'angolo di veduta orizzontale è ampio (ben oltre i 90 gradi); l'app è completa e funzionante. Tuttavia, l'appetito vien mangiando e segnalo, per dovere di completezza e anche in modo pignolesco, alcuni (a mio giudizio) difetti minori, alcuni dei quali spero si possano migliorare con un aggiornamento del firmware e dell'app. Il colore del video non è proprio il massimo della fedeltà e non ho trovato impostazioni per vedere se è una scelta di mappa. L'inconveniente dell'angolo di veduta ampio è una distorsione evidente ai lati (correggibile con un aggiornamento del firmware, Reolink?). Avrei preferito che i connettori (Ethernet, alimentatore) ed il pulsante di reset fossero fisicamente sul dispositivo; francamente quel cavo intralcia il posizionamento orizzontale della telecamera e dà fastidio all'esterno. La telecamera scalda abbastanza. Ho trovato anacronistico l'uso delle viti per poter inserire la scheda micro SD (passi per la posizione molto scomoda…), scheda che nel 2024 non si capisce perché debba essere limitata a 256GB (già nelle ultime Tapo la capienza è 512GB). Spero di vedere un giorno tramite un aggiornamento l'opzione sull'app di attivare due configurazioni (Casa e fuori casa, presenti nelle app sia YI sia Tapo). In modo molto discreto, anche Reolink mostra la sua cloud (a pagamento) per salvare i files; il problema sta nel fatto che è l'unica opzione di cloud possibile (niente Drive di Google, niente OneDrive di Microsoft, niente di niente); sarebbe fantastico se si aprisse il trasferimento anche ad altre cloud; è solo un sogno, Reolink? Infine, spero che ci saranno aggiornamenti firmware per molto tempo, ed aggiornamenti dell'app frequenti. Aggiornerò la recensione quando proverò altre funzionalità

Dès l'ouverture de la boîte principale, on comprend immédiatement que Reolink ne plaisante pas avec la protection de son matériel. La caméra "dôme" est parfaitement calée dans une mousse thermoformée très dense. La première surprise vient du design et de la qualité de fabrication : c’est massif, robuste et certifié IP67 pour endurer les pires intempéries. J'ai d'ailleurs particulièrement apprécié le choix des matériaux : si la partie supérieure de fixation est en plastique dur, le corps principal de la caméra est conçu dans un métal (une sorte d'alliage aluminium) très qualitatif, ce qui renforce grandement l'impression de solidité et de durabilité. Sur le dessus de l’emballage interne, on retrouve la classique pochette cartonnée bleue arborant le slogan "Be Prepared Be Reolink", contenant un manuel d'utilisation très clair traduit en plusieurs langues, dont le français. En résumé : c'est une excellente caméra très haute définition, pouvant fonctionner soit directement en PoE, soit avec un adaptateur secteur classique de 12V + un câble RJ45.
