Geniatech 1T2L20161001 External TV Receiver (Input and transfer to DVB-T2 HD) White

For several years I have had trouble with tv usb tuners. The newer windows releases did not like the drivers and was advised not to even try on Ventura OS. So when the box arrived, I had some trepidation, was ready to wrestle with settings, patches, work around etc. However, once the software was downloaded, installed and the usb plugged in - it worked! A full list of local channels, including HD, all through a tiny aerial (included in the box) on a magnetic sucker on a window. Picture quality and recordings are perfect, although the video is recorded in a proprietary .EyeTV extension. These recordings are not encrypted, and handbrake effortlessly reads them, if you need to change format for viewing elsewhere. Compared to products I used years ago, this all seems very slick and easy. There may be limited use for these type of products now, with web based tv. But occasionally something is broadcast that you might want to keep for ever, or at least beyond the life of the device that records it. And sometimes when there is no Wi-Fi or broadband, or it is too costly, this technology is useful.

Bought this to replace my EyeTV Diversity for my Mac, to allow me to watch and record HD TV. Works perfectly. The only downside is that it can only record one channel at once. Whilst the EyeTV software will recognise two or more tuners when I plug my Diversity back in, and allow three channels to be recorded simultaneously, it does not allow direction of the tuner to channel. This means that the Diversity might be assigned the duty of recording, say BBS HD, and record nothing. But if you just want a single channel recorder, this is great.

I have been using an Elgato EyeTV for the last 10 yrs. It worked brilliantly as a PVR. I used it on my iMac for a decade to record TV and export it to iTunes to stream shows and films to the AppleTVs and iPads around the house. Since Elgato TV products were acquired by Geniatech, my little Elgato EyeTV stopped working and I was forced to purchase this as a replacement, which seems a shame, as there is nothing wrong with my old one, other than a lack of it being supported in the eyeTV software (tried every option, does not work, thanks Geniatech). The software included with this new one doesn't seem to have been updated for 10 years, it says it's not compatible with Mac OS Catalina, the icon looks like a pre release thing full of text with zero production value. Just doesn't feel like something that you want showing in your dock at all. I reluctantly bought this as a replacement for my old Elgato device and it does work, except the eyeTV software should include a free 3 month subscription to gracenote which powers the TV guide element of the system in the eyeTV software. Without this, you can't see which programmes are on when and are pretty much in the dark, making the whole thing pretty useless without further investment in a gracenote subscription, which is another £16. The old one used to work, look good and not require subscriptions. It's a shame elgato only make smart home products now, this product is missing the polish that Elgato used to bring, Geniatech would be more suited to making products for people who have low standards. I would not recommend this product.

I have only done a preliminary test of this product but all looks good so far. The activation code supplied (printed on a small label on the outside of the wrapping) allows use of the 64-bit Mac EyeTV software. During the install, there is no need to subscribe to the paid-for EPG - the free one built into the software is all I need. Live recording is as simple as selecting the channel and pressing the record button. The tiny aerial that comes as part of the package is insufficient to pick up a signal where I live, but this did not surprise me. Connecting into the main TV aerial for the house works fine.

This software needs the eyetv 4 installation code for the 64bit version. Item comes with install code for eyetv3 inside the box for the previous 32bit software. Previous reviewers have complained about not having the correct install code for eyetv4. BEWARE I found it on a very small white label stuck onto the outside plastic box wrapping. I nearly binned this when I screwed up the film wrapping! Excellent tv on my iMac running OS Big Sur. Includes terrestrial HD channels through my connected loft ariel.

Works fine on a Mac with the Eye 3 software supplied. Also included is an Eye4 update code to use with 64bit OS. The software allows the recording of freeview channels `(including HD) on to the hard drive. The file can edied to remove recording overruns and ads. The file can be transcoded to a video file to play on iPhone or other video formats. The Amazon listing is a bit limited and I wasn't sure which model I was ordering. I was pleased he delivered item was as I expected.

Simply does not work as advertised on Windows. Comes with a card giving a key for the MAC software and a key for Windows software but the Windows key doesn't work. And just get auto resonse from help.Let it too late to send back so it is going in the bin.

Après avoir joué un petit peu avec, je suis parvenu à capter des chaînes... J'ai l'image mais PAS DE SON! Ok pour les stations de radio.... J'avais l'ancienne version avec laquelle je n'avais jamais eu deproblèmes. Déçu de cet achat... En plus faire des recherches sur leur site pour trouver des solutions est HORRIBLE !!!!

NACHTRAG vom 22. Sept. 2017 für EyeTV lite DVB-T2 nach Software Update Inzwischen habe ich das Produkt nochmals gekauft, nachdem von geniatech einige Softwareupdates (auch für die Hardware?) durchgeführt wurden. Alle ARD/ZDF Sender können jetzt gut empfangen werden mit einem Empfangs-Signal von 100%. Die HD-Qualität ist wirklich gestochen scharf. Selbst bei stundenlangem Gebrauch tritt ein Ansteigen der Temperatur und Hochdrehen des Lüfters nun NICHT mehr auf. Sehr gute Arbeit von geniatech! Mein Mac mini erfüllt so gerade die Mindestanforderungen, deshalb bleibt gelegentlich ganz kurz das Bild stehen, aber nur bei extrem schnell wechselnden Bildern. Eine einfache schnelle Exportfunktion, wie früher beim alten DVB-T, gibt es noch nicht. Doch können alle Aufnahmen wie gewohnt geschnitten werden, der Film bleibt im EyeTV Archiv. (Die kleinen Vorschaubilder bleiben beim Schneiden weiß, aber ansonsten funktioniert alles.) Deshalb hat die neue Version nun 5 Sterne verdient. Mein Tip: Der Mac sollte die Mindestanforderungen möglichst noch übertreffen. ALTE Rezension, inzwischen überholt: Leider muß ich mich den schlechten 1-Stern-Rezensionen anschließen. Nach der Umstellung auf DVB-T2 am 29. März 17 ist der Stick praktisch unbrauchbar. Von der fehlenden Exportmöglichkeit ganz zu schweigen. Zwar werden Signal-Stärke und Qualität mit je 100% angezeigt doch ein normaler TV-Empfang ist praktisch unmöglich. Auf allen ZDF-Sendern friert das Bild ein, der Lüfter dreht hoch und die Temperatur der CPU steigt in Richtung 100°. Nur ARD-Sender kann man relativ störungsfrei empfangen, doch nach längerer Zeit wird dann der Ton asynchron. Auch ein Update von EyeTV 3 auf die aktuellste Version 3.6.9 (7514) hat nichts gebracht. Man kann nur hoffen, daß Geniatech bald eine Lösung findet, sonst ist dieser Stick wirklich wertlos und es wäre schade um das rausgeworfene Geld! PS Kulanterweise hat mir amazon ein Retour Ticket zugeschickt. Sobald die Firma Geniatech die Software oder Hardware nachgebessert hat, werde ich mir trotz der ärgerlichen Erfahrung den Stick nochmals kaufen, denn im Prinzip ist so ein funktionierender Stick eine feine Sache.

Acquistata perché costretto ad abbandonare la sorella molto più vecchia ma perfettamente funzionate per il passaggio al DVB-T2. Funziona egregiamente, qualche piccolo problema imputabile al software, spero risolvibile con futuri aggiornamenti.

Twee verschillende codes om software te downloaden maakte het me knap lastig. Wel goede ondersteuning gehad van leverancier. Dat is vaak anders! Verder werkt het prima met een goede antenne.
