Great device for the kitchen or bedside table. The screen is clear, and the sound quality is surprisingly good for its size—perfect for daily music, podcasts, or radio. Alexa responds well to commands, and smart home integration is seamless. It’s been a really helpful addition to our daily routine.

The Echo Show 5 features an excellent, clear display and commendable sound quality. Its user-friendly interface is a significant advantage; however, Its command processing speed is slower compared to my previous Echo device.

Has some issues.
This is effectively a smart speaker with a screen, which is 5.5 inches, however it looks smaller. Setup is very easy and I highly recommend linking the device to your Amazon account during purchase to make it even easier. You just follow the on screen prompts on initial setup, it takes around ten minutes including any updates the device needs to do. The interface of the device is very similar to a smartphone, in that it uses toggle buttons to activate and deactivate various features. The home screen displays a clock and local weather, before it continually cycles through various screens such as purchase recommendations or local news. These can be turned off if you so wished. The clock auto dims at night. Sound quality is excellent and I found Bluetooth playback to be easy and reliable, the display will show track information but unfortunately not album art, which for a visual designed device is dissapointing. You can also ask it to play radio stations, again this was straightforward, but it only displays the radio station name, no track information and no album art. The responsiveness of the device is generally okay, however it can be sluggish at times. There is no option to make the fonts bigger or change the colours, which is a shame as on music playback some of the writing is very small. It has Alexa built in and you can ask Alexa almost anything, from telling jokes, suggesting food recipes to giving you local news. Overall this a decent device but does have some issues. Three stars.

happy with my purchase
Echo show 5 arrived well packaged secure and on time, it was simple to set up, the audio is good and i find myself listening to music provided free by Amazon, the screen is clear and i had the choice of Alexa voices. Would recommend.

Easy to set up. The screen is clear and Alexa comes up with recipes and music anything you ask. I love Alexa products, so I m probably biased. Good value for my money, she didn’t disappoint me.

Very poor latest gen, feels like a downgrade
I only bought this to get the new Alexa (as it comes with a new device and I wasnt getting it on all my devices) and its the worse echo I have ever owned. Since the upgrade to the new Echo, its all slower to respond, but does respond better. On this device, it seems worse, and the screen is hopeless. The touch is jerky to respond, its always too dark, and the huge number of ads now replaced most of the good stuff it can do. They should get rid of the ads, or people should stop buying from them to make them stop. I will purposefully never buy from an ad to help discourage ads. Its a device that become so intrusive with the ads, I will likely replace most of my 11 devices with speakers, and only keep a couple of screens, its getting so bad. Clock isnt even showing sometimes. I love Alexa generally, but this is unit (latest gen) is poor.

Terrible.
DO NOT BUY THIS. Worst Alexa I have ever used. It’s desperately slow. Glitchy. Unresponsive. And plain useless. I gave it the benefit of the doubt for a few months, but it’s terrible. I have 100mps Wi-Fi nearby, and other Alexa’s (dot and plus) nearby that work perfectly with years. This is just a terrible product.
