Scheepjes Catona Color Pack, 109 Mini Skeins (10g) Mercerized Cotton

I purchased this with some money that was gifted to me and I have absolutely no regrets! I was able to use the entire pack to crochet this beautiful blanket. It was fun to sit and rearrange the colours into a rainbow order that suited me as well as the actual crochet part. I'm not always a fan of Scheepjes as a lot of their yarns are loosely spun and will untwist constantly, however Catona doesn't do this and is a very firmly wound yarn, that being said it is very soft and drapes gorgeously. Given that these are 4ply I used a 3.5 hook and that was quite perfect for it. A tiny complaint was that I really wish the colour names were printed on the bands as this is a big thing for me I must admit - this line has so many beautiful names and it's ashame to not show them off. I personally went through the box and wrote on the names because this made them easier to identify when I had to make the colour order list for my blanket. I think the box is pretty good value as the price of £65 puts each ball at around 60p and as a comparison, my regular yarn purchasing website of Wool Warehouse would put single 10g balls at 79p. Only thing I disliked in the long run after lovingly using this blanket in the summer months was that it pills quite badly, I was always finding it covered in coloured fuzz. But it's not the biggest deal ever, I still don't regret buying or making this!

Love all the colors and of course the yarn. Bought this for making amigurumi. Perfect size for the cloths and more!

I am a crochet beginner, and Scheepjes Catona has quickly become my favorite yarn to work with. It makes beautiful amigurami. I bought this kit because I needed so many different colors for a granny square pillow project, and boy did it deliver. Every color in the rainbow in one box! Each 10 gm yarn bundle is enough to complete a small granny square with yarn left over ( pictured are 3 1/2” using a 2.75” hook). This is high quality yarn. Allows for very smooth stitching, never frays, and the colors are so vibrant! You may be able to find cheaper yarn but it won’t be a better value considering overall quality and ease of use.

Ich habe das Farbpack im August 2026 für 64,90 € gekauft und die Wolle direkt zum Häkeln von Amigurumis und Mini-Amigurumis ausprobiert. Ich verarbeite sie mit einer 2,25er- oder 2,5er-Häkelnadel. Dabei entsteht ein sehr enges, festes und gleichmäßiges Maschenbild, das beinahe wie gemalt aussieht. Gerade für Amigurumis essentiell, damit die Füllwatte nicht durch die Maschen hindurchscheint. Natürlich sind die kleinen 10-g-Knäuel nicht dafür gedacht, komplette große Figuren daraus zu häkeln. Ihre große Stärke liegt für mich vielmehr in der riesigen Farbauswahl. Für kleine Amigurumis und insbesondere für Details und Accessoires sind sie perfekt: rosa Bäckchen, Haare, ein andersfarbiger Bauch, Kleidung, kleine Taschen oder andere Akzente. Gerade diese unterschiedlichen Farben und Farbschattierungen machen es möglich, Figuren sehr individuell zu gestalten und ihnen ihren besonderen Charakter zu geben. Das Garn lässt sich wunderbar verarbeiten, liegt angenehm in der Hand, fusselt bei mir nicht und fasert oder reißt beim Häkeln nicht auf. Für 64,90 € bin ich mit diesem großen Farbpack absolut zufrieden. Gerade für Amigurumis finde ich die Kombination aus sehr vielen Farben, kleinen Garnmengen und der guten Verarbeitung ideal und würde es bei Bedarf wieder kaufen. 5 Sterne.

Recieved item today with duplicated yarns. I did not recieve a full 109 colours. Very disappointing. I returned it for a full refund.
