Jig Template for Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom Cabinet Hinges and Mounting Plates

Handy little jig for concealed hinges also handy for transferring a line around the wood you are marking

I was sceptical as made of plastic and cheap. But, thought I'd buy one and give it a go but expected to be making my own jig as a result of a rubbish product. How wrong I was, this is actually, good! I tried on a couple of pieces of scrap board to mimic the side and door. Result, spot on. Just use a very sharp pencil to mark centres, not a drill however fine, as could result in enlarged holes in the jig which as the tolerances are fine will affect alignment of hinge. It's as cheap as chips and a must when fitting concealed hinges. I've used this to fit 20 hinges and each and every one, spot on.

This cabinet hinge template is clear and easy to see through, which helps with positioning and marking out hinge and mounting plate locations. It can be useful for basic cabinet installations and repeat jobs where consistency is needed. However, it feels fairly lightweight and a bit limited in flexibility. Accuracy depends heavily on careful handling, and it may not suit more demanding or professional work. Overall, a helpful guide for occasional DIY use, but fairly basic.

So with this the holes are always going to be roughly in the right place. It avoids getting them miles out and it’s quick and super simple (dare I say fool proof?) to use But the holes you mark through are quite large so there is potential to have a difference of a mm or maybe 2 between positions. You could overcome this by checking with a combination square or something (which kind of defeats the object) or making sure the pencil or marker you use fits just inside the hole (so it’s central) I didn’t do either and ended up with some slightly wonky hinges. There is enough play in the hinges to counter act this but I really hoped this tool would eliminate that problem So overall - it’s cheap and simple to use but isn’t super precise

Easy to use, I bought it for centering a new door hinge hole and aligning hinge screw holes on cabinets. Did the job and everything lined up perfectly. Only 4 stars as it is a small piece of plastic, however it performs the function it’s designed for.
