No this is for a invented hot water cylinder

No its not adjustable its a set pressure relief valve

Q: This arrived yesterday. It has a white plastic ring half way down the the thread where it is screwed into the water tank. Should it be removed?

No leave it on! Wrap a bit of ptfe around it as well. If you’ve got any putty wipe a thin layer on the thread on the cylinder
