We had woodpeckers attacking the screens on our house. They were causing such damage, I had to take the screens out. While using the Google machine to explore why, this was one of the recommendations along with hanging mylar tape on the windows. I liked this one better. I hung them off the top part of the window. They twirl a bit with the breeze and look ok. I don't know why or how, but they worked. No more woodpecker attacks. Was it because of these? Well never know for sure but I think they did. Inexpensive fix. I recommend.

Well I think thay are working. I haven't seen any haws around since I put them up .

Woodpecker not coming back after install these. I used to use some old CDs also worked. But these look much better. The only concern is they're plastic and super light. I already lost a couple after some windy weather.

I love my fig tree but so do the birds! This I am sorry to say did not deter them. Although it sparkled in the sun and I enjoyed looking at it.

They worked great to shoo away the birds.

These things really work! I was finding bird eggs on my balcony and feathers. Since ive hung these around i haven't had anymore problems! And they're really pretty to hang outside the balcony. Inexpensive solution.

I don’t recommend buying these. They haven’t distracted birds and they do not secure well to branches.

Hummingbirds love to make perfectly circular holes in your stucco. Who knew? Thankfully once they find out there is no hole behind the stucco they leave and don't a nest but you're left with a hole and it only takes them one night! Once we've put them up we haven't had any problems so it worked this year. I'll update this for next year. The hanging rubber band is almost guaranteed to wear out and ours did. So replace it with fishing wire before hanging. Not a big deal.

If you apply a series of measures - bird spikes, shiny objects as above and get a fake owl then bird activity will decrease. By themselves they are not enough.
