Better than dry media or a sonic cleaner.
It's large but that's not a major issue. I have, for years, used the lyman dry media cleaner and a sonic cleaner to clean cartridges. I use the Sonic cleaner first and then the dry media to polish. Even using both I could not get the inside of cartridges completely clean. I have put over 350 .303 and 150 .44 through the rotary tumbler and they have come out completely clean inside and out, even the primer sockets. I run it for 3 hours, although the instructions say that 1-2 may be enough. It saves me time as I can leave it to run, whereas with the sonic cleaner I had to run cartridges through 3 times, in smaller batches and still needed to clean the inside with a brush to remove all the dirt which meant being with it all the time. The steel pin media is necessary and I would recommend buying the magnet with the tumbler to facilitate handling the pins, otherwise they can be a nuisance. I use Bottled water as it's cheaper than distilled and better than tap water, although I rinse them with tap water. The cartridges will need to be dried externally with a cloth to stop staining before being dried in a dedicated drier, or in my case, the oven (for now). But they come out looking like new. Any pins left inside the cases are easily removed by shaking them into the Media separation baskets that come with the rotary tumbler. It's a bit pricey but having used it, well worth the cost.

Rotary Case Tumbler
Delivered very promptly. The machine itself is quieter than my Lyman vibratory tumbler that I've had for donkey's years! I now use the vibratory tumbler for the initial clean of my rifle cases, then this one after I've decapped and resized. The cases are notably cleaner than using the vibratory cleaner alone (even leaving it on for a couple of hours) and this actually gets the primer pockets clean as well! There is the issue of drying the cases, but I have a dehydrator on the way for that - my wife is not keen on me using the oven on low for the purpose. You do have to sieve the cases moderately vigorously to ensure that all the steel pins are out.Good machine - recommended.

HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUES
GREAT IDEA AND GETS THE CASES SUPERBLY CLEAN. IT IS ALSO FAIRLY QUIET AND WELL BUILT. THE SERIOUS DOWNSIDES ARE, THAT IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THE INSIDE OF THE CASES DRY WITHIN 2 OR 3 DAYS WITHOUT RESORTING TO AN OVEN OR A VERY HOT DAY. EVEN WORSE IS THE SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THE NEEDLES STICKING IN THE CASES AND GETTING EVERYWHERE. WHEN THEY ARE DRY THE BOUNCE FOR YARDS AND I FIND THEM EVERYWHERE EVEN IN MY TOASTER! SO THE KITCHEN IS A NONE STARTER AND I RAN IT IN THE SHOWER. PICKING THE NEEDLES UP IS VERY DIFFICULT WITHOUT A MAGNET AND THEY JUST SEEM TO FLY INTO EVERY CREVICE. WHEN THEY ARE WET, THEY STICK TO EVERYTHING AND ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DRY WITHOUT SPREADING THEM ON CARDBOARD AND THERE ARE 1000's OF THEM! BIGGEST ISSUE IS THAT SAFETY EYE-WEAR IS ESSENTIAL, BECAUSE BELIEVE ME IF YOU OR YOUR CHILD GET ONE OF THESE IN AN EYE IT'S THE A&E FOR YOU BECAUSE YOU WOULD NEVER GET IT OUT YOURSELF. I'll KEEP MINE BECAUSE I LIVE IN AN APARTMENT AND CANNOT DO WITH THE DUSTY DRY METHODS, OTHERWISE I'D BE SENDING IT BACK! IF YOU HAVE A SHED GOOD LUCK, BUT IF YOU ARE RUNNING IT IN THE HOUSE AND HAVE KIDS BE WARNED!
