I was excited to open this smart little sketchbook as I much prefer smaller sizes, they're less intimidating than being faced with a huge blank page. The smart cover looks and feels high quality, a lovely suede feel but the cover feels robust even for being so lightweight and the elastic keeps it beautifully neat along with the curved corners reducing the likelihood of dog eared pages. The other features are not one but two ribbon page markers in harmonic silver (a simple idea but immensely useful to have two different colours) and black and a handy pocket inside the back cover for notes, stickers or other flat bits you might want to keep for inspiration or reference. Onto the arguably most important part of a sketchbook, the paper! When I first opened it, I was thrilled to feel beautifully silky smooth pages with only a very fine tooth, perfect for pencils and light ink as it is intended. I had to get my favourite pencils out and doodle some to test it out and I'm happy to say the colours lay down smoothly and blending was easy. Next I tried a little ink and the bleedthrough on a basic ink writing and sketching pen was minimal, similar to a light use of water based felt tip pens. To get a little extra pop of colour I tried some bright pastel gel pens and they glide wonderfully both straight on the paper and on top of pencil. Overall I'm pleasantly surprised at this little gem, ZenArt is really doing what they say and giving the well known brands a run for their money. I look forward to using this sketchbook more and I hope the comfort and convenient size will mean I'm more easily able to get my ideas down on paper whenever I'm inspired.

I was very impressed with this neat little B6 sketchbook. I tested out some heavier products on it such as gouache and posca markers and felt that both held up really well with barely any bleeding through to the other side (just very minor tiny spots in places where I’d layered the paint thickly). The paper has a good amount of thickness to it, I would say that it's pretty standard in what I’d want from a sketchbook, and the surface is nice and smooth. I would say that it's great for sketching, painting and multimedia and that it's the perfect size to take with you on your travels. It’s not what I would normally use as watercolour paper, however, when I watered down some gouache paint I was impressed that it held up well. I didn’t use excessive amounts of water but I used enough to test how the paper would handle it. It caused some slight rippling in the paper but that’s to be expected, and it didn’t ripple quite as much as I thought it would. You should be able to tell from the photos just how little the paper was affected by the water. In terms of size, it's slightly smaller than A5 but you wouldn't necessarily notice that when you're using it. I’ve never tried anything in this B6 size before so it was a great experience for me and is one that I’ll look for more often now. I love that it is made using recycled materials and that it comes with hardly any packaging. I also agree that it folds flat easily which I love and is exactly what I want when taking it with me on my travels or even just for using it at home. The bookmark ribbons, yes two ribbons, and the back inner pocket are a really nice added touch that most sketchbooks do not have and I think that helps to set this one apart from all the others. Overall, I think this is a great little sketchbook and a prefect alternative to some of the more expensive brands. I would very happily purchase this again and cannot recommend it enough!

This sketchbook is lovely, the pages are super smooth to the touch but thick enough to use both sides of the paper, even with ink or paints. It opens completely flat so if you like to, you can draw/paint across a 2-page spread easily & effectively. There is a little folder in the back for storage, which is a great useful detail, the elastic strap is also brilliant to keep the book securely closed. I've found sketching really nice with this sketchbook because the paper is so smooth, meaning the pencil rubs out very easily without damaging the paper and it's great to ink over with a fineliner. It arrived wrapped up in plastic with some information included about the company and the book, I think for environmental reasons it would be great to see this item wrapped with plastic free packaging and I'd love for there to be a vegan alternative to leather for the cover. Although the leather is nice quality, there was a small nick in the top of the leather on the spine when it arrived, but this doesn't affect the use of the sketchbook and if I wanted, I could just snip that piece off & it wouldn't be very noticeable. There were also a few pages with small spots of dried glue on them, but they peeled off very easily leaving no trace or damage, so this wasn't really a problem. Overall, I'm really enjoying working in this sketchbook, it's compact & high quality, perfect for travel & taking out and about with you. If you enjoy a silky-smooth paper that pens glide across easily & satisfyingly, you'll definitely enjoy working on these pages.

I have really enjoyed using this ZenART sketchbook. I’ve been looking for a sketchbook that is small enough to carry around, with smooth pages which will allow me to use multimedia without it seeping through to the next page. In this, I have found that. The price of the sketchbook is good value for the quality of the product. The pages feel sturdy, and thick enough to layer mediums like watercolour or acrylic. Paint dries quickly, and is slightly absorbed into the paper but it takes a good few layers for the paper to start to break up and “bobble”. I really like the simple design of the outside cover, and that it doesn’t necessarily look like a sketchbook at a glance. The cover is slightly flexible, so it doesn’t get damaged with wear, and it can be put in a handbag or rucksack and not get bent or too scuffed. The elastic closing band adds to that protection, keeping the pages fresh and crisp. There is a handy little pocket at the back of the book, which I’ve used for keeping reference photos, paper blending pads, and colour charts in. Overall, a fantastic product. Highly recommended to amateur and professional artists alike.

The spotty B6 leather sketchbook by zen art is one of my favourite little sketchbooks. It is easy to carry around if you are an artist who likes to sketch or paint on the go. The flexible leather cover is wipeable and lies beautifully flat when in use. The spotty design down the side is very modern and compliments the cover nicely. There is a handy elastic strap to keep your book closed and your paper crisp. It also has a handy pocket in the back that keeps any reference materials you may have safe. I have tested this wonderfully smooth paper with different mediums and have found the paper to work well with pencil , coloured pencils, water colour paint with a light wash and ink and biro and acrylic paint and posca pens . Charcoal and pastel are also possibilities but they do transfer onto the opposite page. To prevent this I just placed a piece of tracing paper in between to prevent this. If you like to fill every page and nook and crannie of a sketchbook you can work on either side of the paper, however, I found that depending what medium you had worked in on the previous side if you press too hard it could transfer whatever was drawn to the opposite page . Again, this is overcome by using some tracing paper in-between sheets to prevent this. This little book is a brilliant multimedia art book, I would recommend this book for students and amateur artists

Sketchbook has gorgeous cover, feels very nice to the touch. The back pocket was falling apart, not glued well, i didnt mind gluing it properly. The paper is okay, a bit too smooth for my taste, makes pencil a bit unpleasant to use and ERASING IS A NIGHTMARE. unlike any other sketchbook i own, this one is so smudgy even after attempting to erase. Im still gonna use it cause i dont like to be wasteful, but I much prefer leda art supply sketchbooks- their paper is ALOT more pleasant to actually draw on. Takes water okay for a 120 gsm, fountain pen feels a bit dry on this paper, not the best but at least there is little to no feathering.

I really love the ZenART Supplies B5 Sketchbook. It's outer appearance is very slick with a nice textured cover. I love that the pages have a spotted pattern on its side. I was afraid to open the sketchbook fully as that usually ruins the spine of the book and pages tend to fall out, however that is not the case with this sketchbook, I was surprised to be able to push it all the way back and still the spine is well intact and without creasing on the front cover. It is a good size, sturdy and well put together. I really love that this sketchbook has 2 ribbons which can be used to bookmark pages to come back to later, not only 1, something I've never seen others do before and didn't know I needed. The pages are not too thin - while using the sketchbook, I actually dropped a lot of ink and expected it to run through all the pages, however it only ran through 2 pages and the rest of the sketchbook was still clean of any ink. I tried different pens and ink on it and none go through into the next pages. Overall the sketchbook is great quality and performance. I really enjoy using it and would recommend it to any calligraphy and watercolour lovers.

Primero me asusté! El gramaje es bastante más fino y satinado de lo que estoy acostumbrada a usar, así que casi me da un parraque después de gastarme ese dinero en una marca que desconocía. Compré este cuaderno porque mi cuaderno favorito es muy incómodo de llevar de arriba a abajo en la mochila. Después del susto inicial y una sensación ligera de decepción porque soy muy neurótica y fetichista con el papel, decidí darle una oportunidad y probarlo... Wow! Me ha encantado! He de decir que la forma en que acepta la acuarela es incluso mejor que la de mi cuaderno favorito y se abomba por la humedad bastante menos de lo que me esperaba con ese gramaje tan fino! Además de lo bueno que ha salido, es muy bonito. Enamorada!

Che bello! cosa posso dire di più. La copertina è elegante di un cartoncino spesso e robusto dalla finitura ruvida che lascia una piacevole sensazione. La carta è di buona qualità, non bianca ma di una tinta avorio chiaro, che per i bozzetti a mio parere è l'ideale. Ci sono due fettucce da usare come segna pagina ed una tasca nel retro copertina, utile per contenere un piccolo righello flessibile o qualche biglietto da visita. Completa il tutto il classico nastro elastico che fascia il quaderno. Il Formato B5 è la chiave per un prodotto comodo da usare e facile da trasportare in una valigetta o uno zaino. Io adotto questo formato da anni per mostrare i bozzetti e illustrazioni; Ve lo consiglio è impagabile.

Sketchbook wie beschrieben! 25,2cm x17,3cm. Nicht DinA 4 und nicht DinA 5.... Irgendwas dazwischen! Ja, - B 5 eine Zwischengröße! Ich mag das Format! Es passt noch überall mit rein! Hinten hat es, eine an den Seiten eingefaltete, Tasche für ausgeschnittene Bilder, Referenzfotos oder irgendwas anderes! Sehr praktisch! 👍 Es hat gleich 2! verschiedenfarbige Lesezeichen-Bändchen und einen oben und unten (unsichtbar) fixierten Gummi zum Geschlossenhalten des Sketchbooks. (Auch sehr praktisch!). Bei der Cover-Farbe kann man zwischen glatt einfarbig oder "gesplattert" hell-/dunkelgrau wählen. (wenigsten muss ich mich da nicht so wegen der Farbwahl rumquälen!😉) Es sieht beides gut aus! Die Seiten-Farbe ist nicht strahlend (gebleicht) weiß, sondern gehen eher ins Cremefarbige (gaaaaaaanz leicht gelblich). Auch sehr angenehm für die Augen! Es hat ein Softcover, - was ich persönlich bei einem Skizzenbuch sehr gerne mag... Aber das ist alles Geschmackssache! Ich würde sagen, es ist für Fineliner, Fountain Pen, Tusche und natürlich alle trockenen Malmedien gut geeignet! Aquarelle gehen zwar nicht durch, aber das Papier wellt sich. Ich würde sagen, "ein bissl Aquarellieren" hält es aus (zum Beispiel Comix colorieren, - wenig Wasser, 1-2 Schichten) ), aber für 'hardcore-Aquarell' ist es nicht geeignet... 😉Fazit: Ich mag das Sketchbook sehr gerne und werde es sicher bald wieder bestellen! 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 Der Verkäufer verdient auch 5Sterne! 1A🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!
