Olympus DM-670 8 GB 16-Bit PCM Stereo Recorder - Silver

I bought this voice recorder with the Olympus ME34 Compact Zoom Microphone to record lectures in a relatively small room filled with about 20 people. The recordings are very clear and far better than any other voice recordings I have encountered during my course! I was particularly impressed that one can set the recording angle in order to pick up what is said at the front of the room rather than from all over the room. I also used it to record while playing the ukulele with a really nice sounding result. Would definitely recommend this item! I am planning to record my hypnotherapy cd with it and am sure I won't be disappointed! The menu is a bit fiddly, but once I knew what I was doing it was ok!

I have this baby for long time. It records superbly if you put a little effort to learn how to use it. Software for PC is not so good therefore 4 stars. Playback on decent earphones is top notch. I am using it when i walk my dog on a daily basis and there is no mobile phone that cam match it. So to potential buyer: Record: Top notch Playback: Top notch Software for PC : could be much better

I bought this for recording meetings and other voice notes. My motivation for buying this device was that I am blind and I need to use it without needing to see a small screen. This item was listed as voice-guided so I though it would be suitable. Unfortunately, when it arrived, it appeared to be used as the packaging had been opened and the device had been reset. This process removes the voice guidance files. I checked the Olymus website and found that the voice-guidance files can be loaded for the Sonoros software that allows the device to be managed from a computer. I managed to get the files loaded into the device with some sighted assistance. This allowed me to start using the device and immediately determine that the voice-guidance only works on internal venues. Any items that can be changed such as folder names and recordings are not read out. No use to me then! The device is very nice. It is small and light. It has a number of preset input settings that help to improve the recording quality depending on the surroundings e.g. meeting, lecture, conference etc. Choosing the right preset makes a big difference to the recording. I was disappointed with the maximum volume of the device. Even at it's loudest, it wasn't loud enough and listening to it outdoors can be challenging. I did manage to make a few recordings and I used the Dragon Naturally Speaking setting to record a meeting before transcribing the recording in my Dragon software. The transcriptions good. I really like the bookmarking feature that allows you to set bookmarks while recording as this makes it easy to quickly work your way through long recording to find the bits that you are interested in. In summary... This is a nice little recorder. It is well built and easy to use (if you can see). Pros: Well built Small and light Multiple presets for recording in differing environments Cons: Voice-guidance is not available in all screens Buttons are small and fiddly Expensive and poor value for money.

Firstly, the product came without any software. There was no CD in the box & as far as I have read so far, no download instructions. Secondly, my recorder has a sharp edge near the top left microphone. This is poor finishing & not what you might expect from Olympus. Thirdly, the instructions are pretty complex, although I did gt the device set up within 20 - 30 minutes, but that was by trial & error not by reading the instructions. Fourth, it comes with a leather case, however, there is no access to the USB port when in the case so it has to be removed to charge it or connect to the PC. Finally, the recorder is very slow. Don't expect to unplug it from your PC & use it immediately. It takes about 30 seconds to get ready for recording for some unknown reason. On the plus side, once set up, it is fairly easy to use & the sound quality seems very good when recording voice. Overall, I think that the recorder is pretty poor value for money. I suspect you're paying over the odds just for the Olympus name. I'm pretty sure there's cheaper & better recorders on the market.

This is exactly what I have been wanting for so long for a digital recorder. I am so happy with the quality of the unit and most especially of the recording. It is really very sensitive though so handling the unit while recording must be kept to a pinpoint minimum. A slight nudge or a simple scrunch on the case is captured by the mircophone. This gadget is so cool haha. How I wish I had this during college. I could have used this in so many ways at school haha.I love how it comes with 2 AAA olympus batteries and its own leather case and strap. Great recharging feature once plugged via usb port. Let me save more instead of buying a separate charger. All in all I saved at least £30 for this purchase. Great buy indeed!^_^

This produce was received without the cables promised and with protective stickers removed indicating that it had already been used. When we eventually located a cable to charge the item it was easy to see that there was a problem with the product and it would not function at all. When we contacted the seller to return the item we were informed that it was out of the time period and the return of what was obviously a faulty product was not possible. Since then I have emailed again but no answer received. I will not be purchasing through this organisation again and certainly would not recommend them.

Die Geschwindigkeit des Abspielens der Tracks (der aufgenommenen und auch der in den Musik-Ordner kopierten Tracks) lässt sich von 0,5-maliger-Geschwindigkeit (sehr langsam) bis zu 3-maliger Geschwindigkeit (sehr schnell) in kleinen Schritten einstellen (mit einem Abstand von einer Stelle nach dem Komma). - Lustig und nützlich, z.B. zum Abschreiben des Aufgenommenen! Weitere Funktionen beim Abspielen der Tracks sind das Index-Setzen (ein "Lesezeichen", zu dem man durch Betätigen der Vorwärts- oder Rückwärts-Taste später wieder springen kann) und das Widerholen-lassen eines selbst ausgewählten Abschnitts (solange, bis man selbst diese Schleife wieder beendet). Das Abspielen der Tracks ist komfortabel. Im Ordner "Musik" (auf das Gerät geschobene Tracks) kann man seine Daten in eigens erstellten Unterordnern sortieren; im Ordner Recorder (aufgenommene Tracks) sind die Unterordner A bis E festgelegt. So hat man einen langlebigen mp3-Player immer dabei. Die mitgelieferte Ledertasche find ich genial! Endlich muss ich mein Diktiergerät nicht mehr im Kinderstrumpf schützen!

Ho acquistato il DM-670 dopo aver utilizzato un Sony per diversi anni. Per prima cosa confermo che la qualità di registrazione del DM-670 è decisamente ottima e migliore del Sony. Poi finalmente ho trovato un'autonomia degna di questo nome. Con l'Olympus, grazie anche alle 2 batterie, è possibile registrare per ore ed ore senza problemi. Trovo anche molto comoda la possibilità di utilizzare una scheda micro-sd esterna; io ho montato una Samsung 32GB ed utilizzo solo quella. I menu sono molto vari e dopo un primo momento diventano intuitivi. Certo non è un registratore da poche decine di euro e questo si vede anche nei meteriali e nella cura costruttiva. Per me è stata una bella sorpresa ed è diventato un compagno fedele a cui farei davvero fatica a rinunciare. La spedizione di Amazon è come sempre stata molto veloce e precisa.

Compré esta grabadora de segunda mano aquí en Amazón y la recibí en perfecto estado. Está dotada de multiples funciones configurables, para adaptarse a cualquier situación de grabación. Yo al final encontré mis ajustes personalizados para las situaciones en las que la uso. Sus 8 GB de memoria en realidad se quedan en 7 para archivos de audio, pues el resto lo ocupa en fimware. Pero a máxima calidad de grabación (PCM a 48Khz/16bits) da para unas 6 horas de grabación, pero si con eso no tienes suficiciente le puedes añadir una trajeta microSD de 32 Gb lo que te daría para unas 33 horas de grabación a máxima calidad. Las baterias suministradas son recargables en la propia grabadora, bien a traves de un puerto USB con el cable suministrado, o bien mediante un cargador de red opcional. Su duración permite grabar durante 6 horas o más (lo se por estimación pues no he llegado a grabar tanto tiempo). Su funda de piel protege perfectamente a la grabadora y permite conectarle los auriculares, un micrófono externo o una salida de linea sin necesidad de sacarla. No así la carga de la batería, que requiere extraerla de la funda para acceder al puerto USB de la parte inferior. En definitiva, creo que es un producto que puede satisfacer cualquier necesidad de grabación, por calidad, duración y nivel de ajustes. Recomiendo totalmente su compra.
