Product Description When only the best will do for your vinyl record collection Chosen by the award winning sound engineers at the Abbey Road Studios, Vinyl Clear is the record cleaner professionals choose to clean and maintain their vinyl records. We are professionals that supply the audio and music industry. We have high and exacting standards, since becoming widely available in 2012, Vinyl Clear has the been vinyl record cleaner of choice for audiophiles and music professionals alike. Our unique cleaning-fluid formulation contains ultra-pure ingredients that penetrate deep into the record groove and gently soften and remove contaminates. This means that Vinyl Clear fluid reaches parts of the vinyl that other cleaners simply cannot reach. We call this effect 'Deep Track Cleansing' and it's the reason why the most respected recording studios choose Vinyl Clear, the Industry Standard vinyl record cleaner. How to keep your vinyl in perfect condition Step 1 - Preparation Choose a flat, stable, clean surface on which to place one of the microfibre cloths*. Lay the vinyl to be cleaned onto the cloth. *You'll need 2 full-sized microfibre cloths to clean vinyl properly. Without them the risk of damage and contamination increases. Step 2 - Spraying Using a semi-circular motion, spray the fluid directly onto the surface of the vinyl, avoiding the centre label. Allow fluid to penetrate and clean for 5-10 seconds before wiping (longer for badly soiled records). Depending on the condition of the vinyl 2-3 sprays per side should be sufficient for a 12โ record, 2 for a 7โ record. Step 3 - Cleaning Use the other cloth* to wipe around in a circular motion at least 4-6 times around the record. Then wipe from the inner edge of the record to the outer edge at an angle of 45 degrees until dry. Best Practice Tip Professionals don't use Velvet Brushes to clean vinyl because 1. There's up to 30x more surface cleaning area on a cloth. 2. They are harder to keep clean as they can't be immersed in deionised water. 3. Brushes are made with velvet or low grade microfibre cloth which are not audiophile quality cleaning materials. Step 4 - Drying Repeat 1 to 3 if necessary. Leave the record to dry on the stand for between 30-60 seconds. Carefully flip the record over and repeat the process on the other side. Now you're ready to play. Professionals never use wet wipes to clean vinyl as they tend to deposit more than they remove. How to keep your stylus in perfect condition The Stylus Clear bottle and applicator gives two cleaning options 1, Cleaning the stylus with the fluid or 2, if prefered using the Stylus Brush dry. When using the Stylus Clear fluid 1. If possible remove the stylus from the cartridge, or the cartridge from the tonearm. 2. With the stylus face up, pointing towards you, apply the fluid with the brush applicator. 3. Start at the rear of the stylus working along the cantilever, moving towards you. 4. Allow to fully dry (about 30 seconds) before replacing. Best Practice tip. Professionals avoid the use of 'dip in' Stylus Gel cleaners because higher quality styli cantilevers can be very fragile. Using a stylus gel on these cantilevers increases the probability of bending or snapping when being removed from the sticky gel. For best results lightly brush your vinyl before each play Our carbon fibre brush is the ideal way to ensure your vinyl is ready to play. Either place the record on one of the super-soft microfibre cloths, or whilst on the turntable give it a quick clean. Don't press the brush down too heavily, just let the ultra-fine filaments do the work. Any loose dust will be quickly released, prior to playing. Best practice tip. Professionals never wet the vinyl prior to using a carbon fibre brush as they are more effective when used dry. Review: Highly recommended - This is a very good vinyl cleaning system. I started with a couple of irreplaceable classical albums, I bought in the 1970s, that had originally been treated with the then hifi Pixall protection system. This new spray and clean system got rid of nearly all the odd clicks and static type noise that had started to appear. I suspect the old Pixall system/layer had broken down over the last 40+ years. Both of these records had not been played since about 1980, as I had made high quality cassette recordings to keep these rare records safe. Having just refurbished a very high quality turntable, and installed a very good cartridge, it was time to dig out my 200+ records to play. When you consider that most dust is dead skin and micro materials that can accumulate in the grooves, cleaning with the spray is a sensible first stage before polishing off with the micro cloths. Then you leave the LP to dry off on the stand provided. After a final clean on the turntable, with the really good anti static brush, the record is back to near perfect playing condition. Most clicks and pops have now gone. Highly recommended. Review: Great kit.I am now able to play records I was unable to play prior to using the cleaning solution. - Excellent kit. I am now able to play records I was unable to play prior to using the cleaning solution, due to distortion.

Good stuff
I have recently bought a record player to play and listened to my mainly nineteen seventies vinyl record(album) collection, having been without the means and not playing them for a few decades so cleaning them up was essential. The Professional Vinyl Record Cleaning Kit, cleaned my records to a very high and yes professional standard and following playing three Albums I am delighted.

Could be better - brush sheds fibres
Nice to get everything you need in one set and seems sound quality. The brush does indeed clear dust from the grooves - you will be amazed at how much dust there is on old records! But be careful to hold the brush by the metal part or it will fold over and the sharp corners could scratch your record. How to get the dust off the record once it's gathered into a neat line is another story! This brush does not remove static from records, it is just not meant to cause static (I believe). The brush, however, does shed its fibres onto records, which when a record has static, are almost impossible to remove. They are very fine and don't appear to affect the playing of the disc, but it's irritting when you want to clean a disc and do not want to leave debris behind! The record cleaning fluid is excellent at cleaning dirty records and I have had some superb results: records transformed from a crackly, muffled mess to crystal clear sound! Simply spraying (being careful to avoid the record label) and carefully wiping with the cloth provided seems sufficient to revive even the dirtiest records; remarkable really without using a brush to penetrate the grooves. The fluid does however contain alcohol, so if you're in the no alcohol on vinyl camp, you will want to avoid. If you're a purist, you may want to wipe the record surface with distilled water after cleaning to remove any residue of the cleaning fluid. The stand is handy too. Am undecided whether to try the stylus cleaner. It is advised against using solvents on a stylus, as it may damage it, so I am wary of using it. Have bought a carbon fibre stylus brush instead. Would rate higher if the brush did not shed fibres, if there was a stylus brush instead of stylus fluid and there was no alcohol in the cleaning fluid.
