Can I use Google Chromecast with this?

Yes, it's possible. It's fully supported.

The left side of the projector [the side with the light] is kicking out a lot of heat. Is this normal?

Normal, there is one side of the cooling vent, it is recommended not to cover, it will affect the machine cooling.

Will the fan noise be too loud and annoying?

Projector fan noise can vary between models. Quieter projectors usually produce around 30 decibels (dB) of noise or less, while some louder models can produce over 40 dB. If fan noise is a concern, look for a projector with a lower noise level, and consider reading user reviews to get an idea of how loud it might be in real-life usage.
