Your dog is going to love this one.
A nice study toy that will keep y our dog amused for a long time. Can't go wrong with it . Easy to adjust for different size treats.

A great toy but you may need to help your dog at first
I was looking for a more difficult treats/food toy for my lurcher who manages to crack even the 'difficult' toys from the local pet shop within seconds, and I'd heard good things about the buster cube. I didn't expect it to be quite so difficult though. With the inner piece in, it's REALLY hard to get anything out and my boy got a bit frustrated and confused when nothing came out after he'd rolled it around a few times. I ended up taking out the inner piece and encouraging him when he used his paw, and now, about a week later, he really likes it and bashes it about all over the place. I don't know whether I'll end up putting the inner piece back in as it really does make it difficult unless you have lots of very small treats, but it's good to have the option. It's also pretty noisy when it bangs around and he's always getting it stuck behind the sofa and needing us to get it out for him!

Buster food cube
delivered on time, as described Not as thick plastic as the original ones many years ago, but so far seems sturdy enough Yellow tube insert very tight to remove but then you don't want it loose to fall out.

Perfect experience for dogs, terrible experience for humans.
You'd think that with such a simple device the instructions would neither be important nor hard to get so wrong. The toy lets you control how difficult it is for your dog to get food out. You control the difficulty by simply rotating the inner cylinder clockwise or anti-clockwise. Sounds simple enough, but the instructions on the cube just say "min and max". Min and max what? Min/max Difficulty? Or min/max dispensing rate? The booklet that comes with it manages to extend to about 2 paragraphs of text and some diagrams without once clarifying the issue. In all the review videos I watched the reviewers clearly aren't sure either - some said one way, some said the other, some clearly had no idea. One said to rotate it "left", which was the most unhelpful for sure. Through some experimentation, I've come to the conclusion that turning it anti-clockwise makes it more difficult (i.e: lowers the dispensing rate). And BOY is this toy noisy. Even on carpet, it's impossible to watch a TV programme when the dog is playing. On a positive note, my Springer Spaniel loves it. She quickly figured out she needed to nose it from the top to turn it over and learned how to keep it away from under chairs and tables where it can get stuck. It's extended her meal time from about 2 minutes to about 15 minutes (often more as she'll leave it and come back much later), and she very much seems to enjoy the whole game, rather than being frustrated. So, perfect experience for dogs, terrible experience for humans.

Can't understand the bad reviews
I think this is a great enrichment tool for dogs. It offers a challenge over and above other enrichment toys such as feeder balls or other similar wobbling type treat dispensers. Pros High quantity of kibble - can feed meals Robust and well made Challenging and engaging toy for active/intelligent dogs Cons Noisy Sometimes tricky to open (but no impossible - there is a knack to it) More difficult to clean that some other enrichment toys Overall a great enrichment tool that I use with my dogs often.

Poor Quality, Hoped for better at this price!
Bought for my 6 month Rottweiler. Very disappointed. Split open within 24hrs. Hoped this would keep my pooch occupied, but he's better off with his antler and empty milk cartons. The inner part which is removable, comes out after a few minutes of play, leaving the other 2 side sections vulnerable to breakage. The parts are held together with a very thin section of plastic. I have glued them back together a few times and have now had enough with it. I like the idea of a food dispensing toy but will try and find something of a better quality......and perhaps of a different material (rubber?), this was seriously LOUD on our kitchen floor!

Good, lasts a long time but ours is faulty
We bought the large buster cube, and it really is large! The dog has to knock it about with some force, and it's insanely noisy (no chance of watching TV over this!), but our larger dogs love it. It takes them about half an hour to empty out a full sized meal from the Buster, which is significantly longer than any other kibble dispenser we have used. The Buster Cube we have seems very robust; it gets rolled around our living room, into walls etc and although it's noisy there's not a scratch on it. This is also one of the few kibble toys we can safely leave our adult dogs with; they have destroyed a Kong Wobbler and chewed others, but they've not even left a scratch on the Buster Cube. This is all pretty good, but there are two things that stopped me from giving this toy a higher rating: 1) It doesn't work well on hard flooring. Although our dogs can knock this all over a carpeted room, if we put the Buster Cube on a hardwood floor or even on flags they struggle to roll it...it just skates around on the same side, meaning the food doesn't fall out. 2) The Buster Cube we received was faulty and we can't for the life of us take the middle bit out (the lime green part in the photo). This makes filling it difficult...instead of just being able to pour a full meal in you have to put maybe ten pieces of kibble in at a time then shake it so they fall through the hole and into the purple bit. It also makes cleaning the Cube hard as there's no way to get water in / out or scrub the inside. Finally it's a nightmare when the dog has emptied all but a few pieces; normally we would shake them out or unscrew and empty the toy, but because ours is broken it's near impossible.

Great puzzle toy for my busy boys!

My dogs (an Australian Shepherd and a hound mutt) both love this toy. I feed them part of their meals from it, and they'll toss the cubes around until every last piece is out. My hound can just barely pick it up and carry it (the large size helps prevent it from being a chew toy like many other puzzles we've tried), but for the most part they roll and fling them around. I found it difficult to remove the center piece at first, but once I figured it out it was easy. This is NOT the toy for you and your dogs if you live in an apartment or other shared residence; we lovingly call buster cube time the "demolition derby" because these are LOUD, especially on hard floors. But we get peace after the dogs are done, because they usually settle down for a good nap after playing with these. Important note: we had one of these cubes break in half after several weeks of heavy use (for the record, we bought a black cube and a purple cube, and the purple one was the one that broke). We epoxied it back together and were able to get a few more uses out of it. Then, one of the dogs broke it again and ended up chewing the center piece. I don't fault the toy, because anything that's getting thrown around like these do will break eventually, but I'm hoping it doesn't happen again. That's something you'll have to watch out for, especially if your dogs are like mine and they use them frequently and are very rough on them. I've already purchased a replacement and my dogs and I are eagerly awaiting its arrival!
