STRONGTHIUM 420cc GX240 GX270 Ignition Coil + Spark Plug

This has fixed my generator. It would not start, but now starts immediately, like it used to. I have started it multiple times over several weeks and it works well.

Ignition coil for a Honda GX390 power washer! Motor wouldn't start, plug spark was weak at best, decided to replace the ignition module and that did the trick starts now 1st or 2nd pull💯

This item appears to be exactly as advertised and looks like a quality unit. The spark plug that ships with it appears as advertised as well. It's a no-name brand and is marked F6TC and it appears to be nickel plated. Since the engine on my generator came with an NGK resistor plug, I will probably replace with the same but, if I encounter any issues with this coil and the NGK plug combination, I've got the one that comes with this coil to try instead which is a nice little bonus. As reasonably priced as this coil is, I am impressed that the spark plug is included.

I used this for a coil replacement on a 420 cc (13hp) Honda clone engine. The literature says 420cc however decals on the engine are 389cc. This engine does have electric start. The engine is labeled as Viper and is on an Earthquake log splitter. Seems to be the same as the Predator and other “ clone” engines from my research. The new coil came on time and the engine started on the first turn over. The kill wire was shorter than it needed to be so I left the original in place. The old connection fit the new coil tight after a squeezed it down. The installation was easy. The diagnosis for me was the difficult part as I “learned” my through the “no spark” issue after having no results after I installed a new spark plug. The coil did come with a new plug which I’ll save as an extra at this point.

I ordered this item on October 23rd of 2025 I ran the item once I repaired my generator for only about maybe like an hour and so I I'm homeless I live out of my van but for the past couple months over the holidays I stayed with a friend and he let me use his power so but starting this week of January I just went back into my van and I started using the generator. Today is January 18th yesterday I ran the generator for approximately about 4 and 1/2 to 5 hours had a bad misfire and when I first repaired the generator I scrub the magnet from all the rust and whatnot and I put dielectric grease on it so it wouldn't rust and so today I tried to start the generator this morning and there is no spark. Mind you I've only ran this ignition coil for approximately 6 hours. So buyers beware!
