Always wanted a good one
I spend a lot of time outdoors and I've always wanted a quality fully functional weather station. I found this one and I'm really impressed. The first thing I noticed is that assembly is really easy real quick and they give you a very well-worded manual to follow. You can put it together in minutes with very limited mechanical ability. This unit has all the functionality of larger much more expensive units that we use at the radio station. All the functions of the unit at the radio station are in this small professional quality weather station for home.Requires three AA batteries and three AAA for the monitor. I'm using my Amazon rechargeable batteries cuz they seem to work fine in everything else. It doesn't take long to connect to the LED display but you do need a good GPS or at least a compass in order to set the direction of the unit to get an accurate wind direction. Most cell phones have a GPS locator. It does take a minute to program the receiver and quite frankly I'm not going to go through all that today cuz I want to watch the Braves game. One of the things that I am going to like most about this unit is the electronic rain gauge. I like to keep track of how much rain I actually get at my location not just what they tell me on the news and I have a rain gauge outside. Mine will no longer be necessary. When installing it needs to be level and that is easily accomplished with the little bubble level they have on top of the unit itself. It's a no-brainer.It is not permanently installed yet since I was anxious to get it up and running to see just how good it was going to be and I am really happy with it. I am going to put it on a post out in the yard but I won't be able to pick one up until later this week.If you want a good quality inexpensive weather station for the house died suggest this one. I don't see any drawbacks to it and I'm really impressed with the functionality so far. I'll update this later once I have gotten more familiar with it but I think I'm going to be really happy and I'm sure you will be too.T

A wealth of detailed weather related sensors available right in your backyard
I picked up this weather station to use in conjunction with my Amateur Ham Radio Station. I am a certified SkyWarn weather spotter with the National Weather Service and need to have accurate information for reporting purposes. This station provides a variety of sensors that give me the information I need quickly and accurately. They were all well calibrated right out of the box and ready to go. The actual weather station requires 3 x AA batteries which are easy to install into the base of the station. The display for use indoors needs 3 x AAA batteries which hold the memory during a power failure or can be used as the only power source, although the display will dim quickly to maintain battery level and you will need to press the snooze/light button on the top to illuminate the back light. Alternatively, you can plug in the included DC power supply (along with the backup batteries) and the unit will stay bright and colorful making the display easy to read and visible from a distance. I use my station display with the DC power adaptor and always have the info readily available right in front of me on my radio desk.I was able to attach my weather station to one of my antenna masts outside and get it up high in the air to obtain the best readings for wind speed and direction. The station comes with a dual mount bracket that can be used on a horizontal flat surface like a carport or vertical on like a wall or chimney. The bracket also allows you to attach to a pole which is how I mounted mine.Make sure to orient your station to face south so your wind direction reading shows correctly. They mention if you live in the southern hemisphere you will need to make some changes to ensure the orientation is corrected. I didn’t have to worry about this part. The station connected quickly to my display wirelessly once I applied batteries and power to both devices. You will need to test the sensors prior to installing the station outdoors where it would be more cumbersome to test and determine all functions working. This part was easy. Spin the wind speed indicator and turn the direction rudder. The rain gauge is tested by twisting the station back and forth and you will hear the flap inside changing position by an audible clicking sound. The rain funnel is removable for cleaning and you can twist it off and see the rain gauge sensor flap underneath and ensure it’s moving very easily. The temperature and humidity readings will populate and you’ll have a fully operation station quickly.Once you’re done here the fun begins. Use safety and have a spotter while you’re off the ground but get your station up in the air where it can provide the best view to the elements. I have my station about 80 feet away from my indoor display and the two have paired well and not missed a beat since installation. The display has many options for what readings and measurements you want to see but I have mine set to display Outdoor temperature and Relative Humidity. I can calculate the heat index from these numbers but you have the option to change the temp reading to a ‘Feels Like’ display to show you this info without any math. I also use the wind speed gusts and average along with a 24hr Rainfall rate. The rainfall reading can be changed to current, average and 24hr period. Wind direction is displayed with a radar image and there’s a forecast graphic group in the middle of the display to show upcoming conditions. Current date, time and moon phase round out the display and give you a bunch of info ready and available with a glance.I’ve really enjoyed this station so far and love that I have accurate information right at my house and I don’t have to base my decisions on the information from my airport located over 15 miles away.

Weather or Not
Unit was very simple to set up with the enclosed directions. The indoor display is a lot smaller than I expected but the quality of the display seems amazing. While the information I like to view at times can be more of a struggle to get than in my previous weather stations. You can view feels like temperatures, 24hr, monthly and total rain fall totals. At the time of this review I have not installed the outdoor portion so I can not comment on the performance of the transmitter. The outdoor portion does not seem as high of quality as my previous station from Accurite, but time will tell. One good thing about the outdoor portion is that it only requires 3 batteries (I use lithium AA) as opposed to my old unit which used 6 or 8.

Huge upgrade from cheap weather stations
I’ve always enjoyed having a weather station, but the one I’ve owned for years was rather basic with little more than the indoor/outdoor temperatures. Now that I’m older and more sensitive to weather conditions, I figured, why not upgrade to something fancier? And that is exactly what I got with the sainlogic weather station. Right away I knew the quality and capabilities of this weather station were much more powerful than my older, more basic model. I was impressed by the packaging and would feel confident gifting this.Setup was super simple - just insert batteries into the outdoor sensor, plug in the display and wait for them to connect. The instructions provided are pretty thorough for getting through the setup process, and there are many mounting options & configurations for the sensor, all of which are super easy with the hardware provided (I opted to mount mine on a post on my deck). I really appreciated the built in bubble level to insure it was mounted properly. The display itself is the perfect size to sit on a desk but can also be easily mounted on the wall. It was smaller than expected but that’s a good thing, I really don’t have room for a huge display so this one was easily placed in my kitchen. So far, I’ve loved watching the weather data change throughout the day. I’m not a huge weather buff by any means, but I’m working on it! The barometer, wind data, indoor/outdoor temps, rainfall, humidity, weather forecast and moon phase are among the data included on the bright & colorful display.I was also impressed by the quality of both the display and sensor. Knowing that the sensor will be exposed to all of the elements, as well as the intense Colorado sun, I’m confident that the sensor will hold up longterm. For the price, I’m really happy with this weather station and have enjoyed the additional insight to my local weather conditions.

Accurate and reasonably priced
Living in FL, this is definitely needed for the amount of storms we get. Instructions and setup was very easy to understand and follow. The display is VERY functional for all parameters including trends over time. This weather station is invaluable if you live in an area with powerful thunderstorms.I really like this weather station. The display is great, easy to read and nicely laid-out with all the info that you would expect. It was very easy to install. As a stand alone weather station I highly recommend this unit, you won’t be disappointed.
