How fast should the drill speed be? Also wouldn't a glass jar be better that why you can see if its turning into butter

Hello, The drill speed can be high speed. It can take 5-10 minutes. The plastic tub works great as a durable system that will have a long life without being a big investment. We do offer a glass version made by Essaware, both in drill powered and stainless steel hand crank.

what drill do you recommend?

Any drill, cordless or corded with a variable speed switch. It does not take a lot of power.

Can we switch out the bucket for a glass jar?

The paddle in this churn is designed to go into a socket in the bottom of the tub. I do not know how it would work in a glass jar. Essaware is working at building a glass jar drill powered butter churn and should be able spring of 2021.

Does this actually work?

Yes, when used as directed you can make homemade butter.
