Highly recommended for begineer to intermediate level
Nicely written with short but fully functional code snippets for every feature, exactly what a developer looks for. As it has frequent code samples it does not bore while reading that is the case when reading lengthy paragraphs.I have completed Javascript and about to complete reading Node.js, and would highly recommend to anyone interested in Node.js.Con: It does not go into depth of how Node.js pipelines/schedules tasks.

Good book...Worth reading!!
Content of the book is good, simple and understandable to the beginners too. But, there are some printing mistakes of directives in angular js chapters. One thing I could suggest is if printing mistakes could be avoided, it will be very useful to everyone.

A fairly deep dive without any fluff!
This book is much better than I expected. Most books that cover multiple libraries usually skim over the main functionally of each component. I was surprised to discover that this is a pretty deep dive into each of the MEAN components. The author provides numerous examples that are short but still prove the point being made. All the examples are available via GitHub and I ran each example as I followed along in the book. First, all the examples worked correctly! That's a first for me. Second, I could step though the code a line at a time to see exactly what was happening (I used Visual Studio 2013 with the node plugin). Running the examples takes a little longer but really drives home the point. I had many ah-ha's while working though this book.If you want a LOB application from beginning to end (which would double the size) then this isn't the book for you. But if you want to get a fairly deep look into how each MEAN component works then this is it. The last two chapters make a short but decent attempt toward pulling the entire MEAN stack together. It's not the application that matters, it's how everything comes together that helps. The author covers: Node.js better than any I've read. Then MongoDb and Mongoose, both covered with a variety of excellent, short examples. Then comes Express 4.0 which is well covered. Finally Angularjs (with a few ah-ha's) and then a couple of short apps. This is also a good book to use as a reference. If you follow along by running the examples in your favorite IDE, you will be very happy you brought this book! I brought the kindle edition because I was concerned that the paper edition would end up as a paperweight! But, now I'm considering purchasing the printed edition just because I hate scrummaging though kindle text (as a reference book).

Best MEAN stack book you'll find to date.
Detailed, explicit information. You'll be reading alot about node .js, mongoDB and Angular.js and so on before your able to build a working app but there is an up side. You'll definitely know what you're doing. I lost a week and a half with another book due to it not explaining the where's and why for's what servers are running in what directorys and command line issues. This book however gives you all the pertinent information with well structured examples without rushing head long into Web app tertiary. You'll learn about node.js being the server. How Express.js extends the functionality and ease of use of node. That mongoDB is a database server built for NoSQL (Not only SQL) and that Angular.js is used to bind data (in the database via your App) to your website asynchronously. This is the way the web is moving. I personally am not hanging around to much with AJAX or jQuery as the possibilities available running under the MEAN stack are phenomenal! Performance, scalability and the ability to utilise javaScript across the entire stack means you learn a single technology and can communicate with other engineers and integrate fast! I found this book enjoyable and engaging and what's more i highly recommend it.

good stuff
Overall the book covers all the necessary things you need to learn about on web development. However it seems that the book was released in such a hurry that nobody had time to proofread. All in all, I liked it.
