Life saver. Perfect solution to all other expensive and crappy waterers.
These solve ALL my watering problems. I’d tried the galvanized double walled containers, and they rust through within a season (or half a season), build up hard water deposits, and are hard to clean. Also no matter how careful I am to break the seal before pulling up on the top, this rivets just aren’t made like they used to be. The handles break off!! I’ve tried a few brands of the plastic kind of three different styles. They break easily and/or quit functioning as intended -not letting the water out and leaving chickens without water. Some people say these cups get dirty fast and are hard to clean. When the chicken dips their beak in, yes, some dirt comes off and collects in the bottom of the cup. But the water in the cups stays clear. AND if you just pour some water in each cup while refilling the bucket, they rinse right out. Super easy. During the freezing months I plan to set this on a plastic warmer, made for plastic waterers, and set inside the coop. I have one I used previously and it works perfectly. The only mistake I made was installing the cups just a little too low on the bucket. I can’t sit the bucket down flat on the ground now, but it’s fine if I use a round paver stone. Next time I’ll drill up a couple of inches higher. People had mentioned putting them low to get more volume out of each fill, but I think it’s better to be able to set the bucket on the ground for cleaning. Which, again, is easy! Please, use a food grade bucket for chicken health and your health. You are eating what they are making.

Great for various birds
These watering cups are much larger than similar cups. Good quality and great price! Our Chickens, Guineas, Turkeys and Ducks have no issues when drinking.

Good cheap upgrade from open water bowls
I got these because I was tired of the chickens dirtying up open water bowls so quickly. For the price, this 8-pack is a pretty good way to make a cleaner DIY watering setup. They are simple plastic cups, so I would not call them heavy duty, but they worked fine for what I needed. The biggest thing is taking your time on the install. Drill the holes clean, seat the cups straight, and test everything for leaks before you put it in the coop. I let mine sit with water in it first just to make sure nothing was dripping. Also use a dark colored bucket since algae will plug them rather quickly if you dont. The chickens figured them out without much trouble, and having several cups helps keep them from all crowding one spot. It definitely keeps the water cleaner than an open pan.My only real concern is long-term durability in Florida heat and sun. They feel fine, but they are still plastic, so I’ll be watching that over time. For a backyard chicken setup, I’d buy them again. Just don’t expect some commercial-grade system. They are a good inexpensive DIY option if you install them carefully.

My Chickens Are Living Better Than I Am
Installed these in just a few minutes, and my chickens acted like they'd been drinking from them their whole lives. No more dumping dirty water every day, and they're definitely happier. At this rate, they're going to start asking for heated floors next. Great product that works exactly as advertised

They do the job
I am raising chickens in portable coops and need a large capacity hanging waterer that moves with them up and down our hillsides. Depending on the number of chickens in the pen we use either two or four drinking cups per five gallon bucket. They plug up fairly easily and require regular cleaning, but it is not difficult to disassemble and clean them out. Just watch out for the spring. It likes to escape. The biggest drawback is that the chickens are chickens and sometimes manage to push the cups out of level which causes all the water in the bucket to leak out. I tighten the nut as much as possible to stop that from happening. This is the third set that I have purchased as my farm is ever expanding, and they are the best solution I have found for watering my poultry. I even found the same design in metal for my portable rabbit coops. Thank you to whoever thought them up!

Worked well for maybe 4 months
I had alot of hope, but these did not last very long. Initially the worked great and install wasn’t too bad. But after about 3 months or so, one of the cups stopped filling up. Then another stopped filling up. Then around month 4 a cup wouldn’t stop overfilling and would drain all of the water in the bucket. Unfortunate because the bucket now has holes. Maybe don’t install all at once and keep a couple as backup/replacement. Also the color fades significantly in the sun compared to my other chicken items that I’ve had for way longer. After about a year outside the cups were yellow not red. Otherwise easy to clean but faulty design is not very long lasting.

These are the perfect choice! NO LEAKS
Perfect waterers!!!! The fact these are wide make them perfect for not only my chickens but also my ducks!!!! We love that these are our barn waterers for night time because we dont have to worry about them knocking their water bowls over or getting them nasty. This set comes with the drill bit which honestly, is worth the total cost...its a high quality drill and it sinks thru the bucket the second its pressed. I recommend drilling your holes a couple inches from the bottom to ensure that the waterer clear the ground and dont keep filling up. There have been zero leaks at all during the initial install and afterwards. We have had no leaks whatsoever so we are really pleased about that. The ducks have knocked into these and havent loosened them from the bucket so what more could we ask for. Overall perfect great quality waterers!!

Use for chickens not ducks
These work for chickens but use nipple waterers for ducks and turkeys. Ducks are wild with these cups and at least once a week knock down one of the cups and drains the whole barrel dry. We switched to nipples and now have no problems. Also, these do not work well for meat chickens, they also are clumsy and knock or break off the cups
