I bought a Weber Spirit gas grill some years ago thinking I would grill on it because of the convenience over charcoal. Well, I haven’t used it much. I still prefer grilling over charcoal. I saw this griddle insert, and I wanted it. But, it seemed like a lot of money for a piece of steel. I finally bit the bullet and bought it when it went on sale. It’s awesome! It is pricey, but it is very heavy gauge steel, which makes it durable and even heating. It has been great for cooking bacon, smash burgers, and scrambled eggs. I think it is well worth the money, and now I have a use for my Spirit grill. Nice job, Weber!

Although the price of this seemed kinda steep it is a very nice griddle insert for my Weber Genesis II E-315 grill, so "Buy Once, Cry Once" applies. So far I have only used for smash burgers w/butter toasted buns and a group breakfast (eggs, sausages, pancakes) but it worked great. Lots of space for making multiple things at once so all food can be ready at same time. I was worried about food sticking but it wasn't a problem and I love that you can use stainless steel utensils without fear if scratching. Post cooking cleanup was easy. I doubt I'll ever go back to using regular grill grates again.

This thing weighs nearly 30 POUNDS! 30 POUNDS!! Yes, it’s a huge chunk of metal, and you are going to pay for each ounce, but it will clearly last if cared for. Weber claims that the griddle is pre-seasoned but recommends two additional layers of seasoning for optimal results. Each layer of seasoning requires 30 minutes of heat at 450-500°F. The fit is very good, not excellent, but very good. There’s a good 1.5” of room horizontally and maybe 0.5” vertically. They might have left the room to allow someone’s fingers to fit underneath when removing the griddle, but I would have preferred full coverage. Still, the griddle has a high-quality matte black finish and distributes heat evenly. It’s a must-have, in my opinion. The amount of time I’ve saved from not having to clean underneath the griddle is worth all the money this thing costs :)

Oh my goodness this griddle has made another level of outdoor grilling for my husband. He uses it for so many perfect meals. Well made and fits our grill perfectly. Highly recommend.

Before getting a grill for my yard, I was stuck trying to decide between getting a grill or a griddle. This solved my predicament! It's a heavy griddle insert that allows me to easily swap out the grill top with the griddle top so I can cook breakfast eggs, smash burgers, you name it. Clean up is easy as griddles typically are. You can season it with pretty much any oil and as long as you maintain this well, it'll last you a very long time.

Bought this for Father’s Day to use on top of our dad’s Weber grill. Works great and is easy to clean!

Griddle is heavier than I anticipated. Checked the thickness of the steel used and it is 3/16 of an inch. The finish seems to be similar to a parkerized/phosphated finish and should help keep the rust away. The finish of the bends and slots is excellent with no burrs or sharp edges and it fits perfectly on my 3 burner Spirit II. I seasoned the griddle twice before using (even though it comes preseasoned, the manual recommends doing two to seven additional seasonings before use). First cook was a pound of bacon, followed by smash burgers. Surface was mostly no-stick and cleanup was easy. Successive cooks have the griddle getting more and more no-stick. The price on this is a little steep, but you really get a quality cook top and it expands the usefulness of your grill immensely.

If you are thinking about adding another grill. . . Don't. This is much better. The insert fits perfectly on my grill. Sears steak perfectly and bacon is a breeze. Veggies and fish don't fall in through. LOL. This is heavy duty. No problems.
