Why are there red, blue, or yellow lines on my screen, and how do I fix them?

This is caused by a signal mode mismatch. To fix it, press and hold the Resolution Switch button. The screen will briefly turn blue, auto-detect your console's actual signal (AV or S-Video), and restore a clean picture.

I plan to use this with an HDMI capture card or monitor with a scan converter box - will it work?

No. This adapter is designed for direct connection: console AV output -> adapter -> TV/monitor/projector HDMI input only. It does not support pass-through with an HDMI capture card, converter, or connector box in between the adapter and the display.

I connected the adapter but got no picture - do I need a separate power adapter to make it work?

Yes. This model requires an external DC 5V/1A power source, which is NOT included in the package. Without a separate USB or wall power supply plugged into the adapter, it will not power on or output any video signal

Will this adapter work with my PS3, or with a GameCube console I also own?

No. This adapter is built only for PS1, PS2 (Phat and Slim), and PS One via their AV Multi Out port. It is not compatible with PS3 (different port/signal standard) or GameCube, which need a separate dedicated adapter.

Will this adapter upscale my old games to true 1080p HD like a modern console?

No. This is a signal-format converter, not an upscaler. It converts the console's analog S-Video signal to digital HDMI at 480p or 720p output only. Picture clarity reflects the original console signal, not native HD detail.
