I overheat often, so I am always looking for ideas to cool down. I thought I’d try a neck fan around the house rather than cranking up the AC in the heat of the day. I have tried a few different models now and they each work as advertised. This one cost more, but also had more fans and longer battery life.However, I am very sensitive to noises and I am susceptible to ear infections. So, unfortunately for me, even on the lowest setting, this one was still too loud for me and blew into my ears.I did like the extra vents in the back blowing both up & down my neck/back, especially when I put on a tank top! The front vents only blow up, so they were blowing directly in my ears. It sounds like you’re in a wind tunnel even on the lowest setting. I tried turning it upside down, which successfully got me out of the wind tunnel. However, it seemed like the motor was louder.Also, I don’t think it is designed to work upside down. Turning it upside down left the charging port exposed. There wasn’t a cover for the USB C port. So, if I were to augment my neck fan cooling regimen with my tried & true method of using a squirt bottle mister, then the charging port would be exposed to water dripping in it. Hopefully a future model will have a little rubber cover over the USB C charging port.I understand many people (especially women wearing makeup) don’t like the squirt bottle misters because it gets them wet. So this fan is a good dry cooling method if you get acclimated to the white noise of the fans. Sadly, I couldn’t. I hope it works for others, just not the right solution for me.I still use damp frozen washcloths under my cap/hat and around my neck when in 100°F+ weather. It isn’t pretty, but it works. I’m still hoping one of these neck fans will be able to compete someday so I’ll stop being a wet mess on hot days.

Feeling the heat being outdoors in 90's+ weather will quickly exhaust me. Took a vacation to Europe early September (still hot temps) and bought this to keep me cool on those long walking excursions with a guide.It was a lifesaver in that it did help immensely to survive the outdoor heat. I searched all the features of many different brands and models and found the features of the DesertWest neck fan to be the best. The blowers to upper and lower neck did the trick of keeping cool although I was perspiring. It blows the outdoor hot air, but that is better than fanning yourself with a piece of paper. The most impressive feature was a 6 hour battery life on second speed which was cool enough. The down side is not so bad, but there is noise of the air blowing towards the ears as the speed increases. This was not so bothersome to me when keeping cool was the priority. I have long hair and it did not get sucked into the air return. I liked the ability to fold for compactness in storing and charging. TIPS: Placing the fan is best to insert from the side of the neck rather than from the back of the neck. Also start using the fan as soon as you are in the hot area rather than waiting until you feel hot to turn it on.

I would not have survived this Houston summer without this. I can't speak to battery longevity since I only use this for dog walks. I have long hair but I put it up because on a super hot day, why would you have your hair down? That would make no sense. Your hair is going to make you so much hotter if it's down than if you just put it up.This will try to suck little hairs in if your hair is down, but it's not that traumatizing, you just yank it out. Doesn't hurt. Be safe, put your hair up to take let it ventilate your neck.Has three speeds, in cool areas, it feels COLD, and in hot areas, it keeps that "halo" of super hot air off of you. I use this with a friend at an unair conditioned outdoors farmers market in Texas in the summer, and I felt fine, but she felt too nauseated from the heat to continue. I've also used this outside in Texas doing a drone roof inspection on a day that was almost too hot to fly the drone per its max operating temp.This works!

I decided to purchase this neck fan because it didn’t require batteries, the excellent reviews it it had and it looked really well made. I was not disappointed! This little fan is worth its weight in gold. I wear this at work all the time. I usually cannot put it on anything but the lowest setting, which by the way keeps me really comfortable. I love this fan and when my customers ask about it, I hand it over so they can try. It folds up and I put it I. A drawstring bag. Can’t say enough good things about it. Love. Love. Love.

Thisbis a pretty good neck fan. Solidly built, does a pretty good job with cooling, is fairly quiet at lower levels.Mine however was missing the USB c cable. Which luckily I have plenty to spare but if I did not then thar would have been a minor problem

Although the price point for this neck fan is a little higher than some, I believe this is a reflection of its outstanding design and quality construction. It is sleek and stylish, light weight and quiet. I purchased two neck fans for a trip to Australia, planned early next year, the folding, packable design was a deciding point and I am well pleased with my choice. I have already found the neck fan indispensable in this hellishly hot summer.
