Summer Fridays Mini Jet Lag Mask & ShadeDrops SPF 50 Face Sunscreen (2 Ct)

I’ve tried a lot of mineral sunscreens, and Summer Fridays ShadeDrops Broad Spectrum SPF 30 is easily my favorite. The coverage is super light and blends seamlessly into the skin. It disappears quickly without leaving any white residue, which is usually the biggest issue I have with mineral formulas. This one just melts in and looks completely natural. It doesn’t cake or pile on facial hair either, which is something I run into with a lot of sunscreens. It doesn’t have the look of makeup coverage at all, which is a big plus. It also isn’t drying at all, which is a huge win. A lot of mineral sunscreens can feel tight or chalky throughout the day, but this stays comfortable on the skin. I also appreciate that it does not contain drying alcohols, so it feels much gentler compared to many other sunscreens. The formula includes beneficial antioxidants like vitamin E, which helps protect against free radical damage, along with ingredients like squalane and bisabolol that support the skin barrier and help keep the skin calm and hydrated. Those extras make it feel more like skincare than just sunscreen. Overall, this is the best mineral sunscreen I’ve tried. It’s lightweight, comfortable, blends easily , and actually feels good to wear every day. I keep reaching for it over everything else.

I am in love with this sunscreen from Summer Fridays. Not only is it incredibly lightweight, it melts into your skin in seconds, leaving you with a natural and hydrated finish. Plus, it has SPF 50 so you know you're well protected. It doesn't irritate my oily/combo skin and has little-to-no scent. All in all, this is an effective sunscreen. Cheers, Summer Fridays!

Love this mineral sunscreen! No white cast and no strong odor! I have very sensitive skin and have had no issues with irritation. I do let it dry a few minutes before applying foundation.

DO NOT RECOMMEND this product whatsover. I bought it as a gift to my mom and it caused a chemical burn on her face and neck. Her skin started getting red almost immediately and then developed blister-like rash and pustules. This product needs to be recalled.

LOVE. If you have dyed hair or hair extensions, this is a great option for sunscreen. Non-mineral sunscreen results in my extensions turning orange at the bottom. No issue with this. It’s also super easy to apply. 10/10.

Very lightweight! One of the few mineral sunscreens that I don’t mind using. Does not cling to eyebrows and hairline. Does not look orange. My husband even uses it because it does not feel greasy!! The only downside is that it can be a bit drying in the winter months for me when we’re in Arizona but perfect for warm, humid summer days in Minnesota.

I noticed in some of the reviews people had an allergic reaction to this sunscreen. For me that is not the case at all. I consider myself to have combo/sensitive/acne prone skin and I am in my mid 30s. I am currently on prescription hydroquinone tretinoin given to me by my dermatologist for discoloration and skin issues. As you can imagine wearing sunscreen with this medication is absolutely crucial. I am not able to wear chemical sunscreens right now due to my skin being extra sensitive. This mineral sunscreen blends out like a dream leaving no white cast on my skin. It is not greasy and wears well under makeup and over my moisturizer. It is an “every day” sunscreen for me. If I’m going to the pool or beach I will change to a higher spf with water resistance from eltamd. I would describe the finish of this sunscreen as natural leaning a little bit matte but not too matte to where it drys out my skin. All I know is when I wear this my face doesn’t get greasy and it layers well with other things on my face. That is more than I can say for more mineral sunscreens. If you buy this sunscreen I highly suggest you do a patch test before applying it all over your face. I have had no issues with rashes or it breaking me out. This is a 100% honest review I was not sent this product for free! I just am thrilled to find a mineral sunscreen that isn’t greasy because most of them are in my experience. It also blends like a dream and there is literally no white cast which is rare. To me it looks like it has a very slight tint. It is not stark white in my opinion. It’s almost like an ivory color with a cool toned base. Pictures I posted are of the sunscreen applied on my hand, then blending it and immediately after it’s blended in. It sets down quicker than other mineral sunscreens I’ve used in the past which is a HUGE plus for me.

I’d been searching for a new everyday sunscreen with clean ingredients 50 or over spf and I got excited as I thought this could be the forever one, but as a person who has tried many, many sunscreens from skincare lines and other big/small brands, I honestly felt like this one just wasn’t very great and you are paying for the name vs. quality of product. Pros: it is 50 spf, spreads on easy—so a daily standard amount goes a long way, and is under the travel size requirement (which comes in handy). It has no white cast for me (which also was pleased by). Cons: it’s pretty small in size (and expensive for an everyday sunscreen of that size) my previous one was slightly cheaper and larger in size at 2.8ml vs. under 2. It was extremely liquidy formula and like some other mineral sunscreens, it had a grain to the texture (While I realize that can be normal for mineral, it’s just not my personal preference). It also smelled like sunscreen and I feel like it never really fully absorbed/dried (or it took nearly half the day to do so)— so felt a little bit sticky/gooey most of the day as a result (and I wear very light to no makeup, so can’t speak if it would make foundation cakey). Overall, if you are used to grainy mineral sunscreen or don’t have strong preferences it may be the perfect fit for you, but if you are like me and moving from an old holy grail skin care kind of formula you used for years and are looking to replace, it’s probably not gonna cut it for high standards!
