Quality and workmanship
These work very well and you can read depth of rain without your glasses numbers and lines are bold and big

Very Nice Glass Rain Gauge
I like this rain gauge. I've had the plastic ones for a number of years and they just don't match a true glass water gauge in useful life and clarity for reading level of water. Save your money and buy this one instead of the plastic ones! I noticed people mentioned the glass breaks if it freezes...well yes, very true, however drain the water out before any freezes or simply pull the glass out of the mount in the winter and put inside your house. I recommend this product.

I love the large numbers!
Works perfectly with a large viewing cylinder with easy to read numbers. I like it because I can easily remove the tube and empty and clean as needed. Looks really nice on our back deck and well worth the money!

Nice upgrade from plastic but color stripe is misaligned
Purchased this glass gauge to replace similar plastic gauge that had become discolored and opaque due to exposure to the sun. Installation is easy and it generally works okay but had to ding a star because the blue stripe on the back of the tube that helps you visualize the measurement of rain is misaligned (about 15 degrees) with the number/gradient markings on the front of the tube. It still works but not as well as it would if correctly aligned... as displayed in images on the listing.

Well made but....
After mounting on a post that was dark in color you can hardly read the markings on the water levels who thought that putting black print on a blue background was a good idea. White markings would be so much better. The bracket is well made but the glass tube rattles around in the wind and possibly could get damaged in high winds. Time will tell. Was packed well and arrived quickly.

Ridiculously Inaccurate - Deserves Zero Stars
I actually bought 2 of these before discovering how inaccurate they are. I was getting much higher rainfall totals from them than nearby CoCoRaHS sites were recording, so I investigated these gauges. I measured the increments on the scale and found them to be exactly 1" apart. Great--if the opening at the top and the tube all the way down are exactly the same inside diameter. But they're not the same; they differ quite a bit! The top of this gauge actually is shaped like a small funnel--1.875" inside diameter (by my conservative measurement; it may be a bit wider) at the top of the funnel and 1.625" inside diameter at the bottom of the funnel, and probably down the rest of the tube. A bit of math shows that the area of the top of the funnel is 15% greater than the area of the tube it feeds into! That means the scale needs to be expanded by 15%, that is, the distance on the scale between the inch markings should be 1.15" apart, NOT 1.00". My measurement of the funnel top was conservative, and the part that feeds rain water into the tube may be a bit wider. Based on comparisons with nearby CoCoRaHS sites and with another rain gauge I have, I suspect the error is substantially bigger, perhaps 40%. I will try to return both these gauges. I strongly recommend that you don't buy these if you are interested in accurate rainfall measurements.

Lectura equivocada de pluviometro
El producto tiene un error de 25% en la lectura ya que la boca del pluviómetro es cónica y no está compensada esta diferencia de diámetros en la graduación

Make NO Mistake NOT Made Of Glass!!
Not sure about other countries however just received rain gauge today and I confirm its plastic!! If I had of know that I would have purchased a cheaper one elsewhere!!! Some other reviewers may have been lucky and received glass, beware you will most likely get cheap plastic!! SO disappointing!
