is it dishwasher safe?

For the life of me, I can't see why anyone would put these in a dishwasher. They are mostly suited to carry water only and I don't think they are sturdy enough to put in a dishwasher.

Can you recommend a tap like cap fitting that will fit on the neck?

Unfortunately I think you will have to take it with you and ask in the shop maybe in the range or a garden centre they will be able to probably be to help better

Best warer storage

Good quality easy to use water cans. I got them to carry extra water on my motorhome. They are a good size and shape and the lid seals well .

Useful but do leak if not kept upright

The inclusion of a pouring spout makes these water containers quite easy to use, but as others have said, when sealed with the cap, either with or without the plug (under the cap) in place, if they tip sideways they do leak - not drastically but enough to be annoying. I usually wedge them with other things to stop them tipping.
