Does the SD card function 'roll' or does it have to be manually cleared for further use? (Surely not?)

YES it 100% does. You just configure it to roll over. All the information suggests 64gb max card. I have a 128gb card which works fine, and approx records 4.5 days of 24hrs and rolls over automatically. So basically the card is in the unit, configured and works perfectly and no further tweaking.

I understand that infared through a video can cause glare through window. Can infared be switched off and will it cope with well lit road at night?

The IR does indeed cause glare from a window. It can be switched off though. When the light level is low the camera switches to black and white. Headlights directly into the camera causes white out a bit, but generally the picture is OK. You wouldn't be able to read a registration number though.

Is the cloud service free?

No, it's not. Best option is to buy a micro SD card which slot's in the camera body. Can take up to 64Gb which on full HD records for about 48hrs.

Can this wireless camera be accessed from the other side of the world? from england to south africa?

Yes, but if you are using the mobile apps, it can't be accessed *reliably*. It will mysteriously fail at least 10% of the time in my experience, even when there are absolutely no network connectivity issues.
