The Bhut Jolokia Pepper we sell is grown on special order organically in total isolation (no other pepper plants within 1 mile or more) to insure absolute genetic purity. Not greenhouse grown. The parent seeds came from plants that tested over 1,000,000 (1 million) SKU's. This ensures that you get a premium product that is rarely offered anywhere else as most Bhut Jolokia Pepper seed producers, do not grow their peppers in total isolation. This will ALWAYS diminish the heat characteristics (SHU's) of the Bhut Jolokia Pepper. The pepper is used as a spice in food or eaten alone. One seed from a Bhut Jolokia can produce sustained intense pain sensations in the mouth for up to 30 minutes before subsiding. Extreme care should be taken when ingesting the pepper and its seeds, so as to not get it in the eyes. It is used as a cure for stomach ailments. It is also used as a remedy to summer heat, presumably by inducing perspiration. In northeastern India, the peppers are smeared on fences or used in smoke bombs as a safety precaution to keep wild elephants at a distance. In 2009, scientists at India's Defence Research and Development Organisation announced plans to use the chilies in hand grenades, as a less lethal way to control rioters These chillies are extremely hot and the use of gloves is strongly advised. very good, nice and hot
i used these for heating up soups and other meals like burgers curries and natchos, nice if you finly chop up and sprinkle into meal it just makes it hotter. just make sure you wear gloves or really inse your hands ive learned that the real hard way.only trouble is if your gonna put loads in a meal and your not used to real hot stuff line your stomach with some dairy like milkshake as i put 8 in a phaal curry and once it hit my guts i experienced some of the worst pain in my life like i was being dissemboweled with acid from inside out, it only lasted for probs 10-20 mins but it seemed like eternity, crap comming out of one end and vomit comming out of the other my tears and sweat were burning. so yh drink a milkshake. highly recommend
