Missing Parts ???
OK. I needed an inexpensive scope for occasional audio repair & field work. You need to have adapters to use the scope with standard BNC probe & gnd. connectors. The tester on the front panel I'm surprised is accurate for transitor/diode/res readings. Was unable to use the scope portion as there is a package needed with the probe & grd. lug to adapt BNC to the mini input connectors. The company said Amazon was responsible for any missing items as the shipper. Amazon insisted Fnirsi should provide missing items. To keep drama to a minimum I am returning the item as defective while Amazon ships me a replacement that hopefully has all I need to use the scope. Will add to my review when I receive a complete unit. Really hated returning it as the semiconductor front panel test portion was very accurate & hoping the replacement is equally accurate. OK so I returned the unit that was missing certain items & just received the replacement DSO-TC3. It had all the items that were missing from my original order. I give the front panel semiconductor test a try & am impressed by the accuracy & ease of use. As an added bonus I didn't know it also had an infra-red device tester that not only verifies if the TV or stereo remote is working but also gives you all the codes. I give this a 5star plus for these features. I haven't tested the scope probe yet but I'm sure it'll work fine within it's parameters. Good for audio but may not for RF work but then again it's specs weren't designed for those frequencies. Overall I am very satisfied & would recommend this for anyone who tinkers with electronics. This device does quite a bit for it's modest price.

Interesting tool
Yes, it is made in China. Instructions are in multiple languages. Item is quality construction. This thing does a lot of things that I will probably never use, but better to have and not need than to need and not have. I'm retired and tinker with electronics so I got all the time in the world to learn about it. You can never have too many toys...

Cannot use it to a full potential, missing parts can't get help. :(
Update, 08/31/2023: this is an update to my recent review. I got the cables with the help from the FNIRSI company themselves. They've been very kind to help me out and provide the cables that were missing from the original order. The unit is all there now. Like I said the unit works fine when I was using it as a test for components. Now that I have the cables I can test the other two options, the oscilloscope and the signal generator. :-) Thank you again to the company FNIRSI, for your support Original review---- Although the unit was brand new and still sealed, there is not fully usable . I was able to test various components. And it worked fine. I really liked unit because of that function. When I tried to use the oscilloscope mode or the function generator mode, I noticed that there was supposed to be some cables to go along with it and the little adapter that hooks the cable to the top three connectors. But there was none. So I cannot use this to its full potential. If yours did not come with any of the parts circled in red in the included picture that I'm missing, I like to know how I can get replacements for the missing parts?

Doesn't read Germanium transistors!
The title says it all. It doesn't read Germabium transistors correctly. It either reads them as a resistor or some type of diode. Testing for the hFE of Germanium transistors was the main reason I got this. I already have a cheaper tester that tests everything else I would need to test, including some (but not all) of my Germanium transistors. I got this thinking that it would be an upgrade with some extra features, which it is and it does However, it does not do that one, specific thing I got it for, and I didn't find anywhere that mentioned this. So had to take off 1 star for that. Also, updating the firmware doesn't really work on my MacBook. It says in the directions I found that it "recommend" using a PC with Windows. Not a big deal because I also have a PC and laptop running Wibdows 11, but that's still another extra annoyance. So took off another star. It seems to measure everything else ok. I haven't really tried much other than the component tester and some of the features in its basic "Tools" section. So I can't really attest to how well the oscilloscope or anything else works. I do plan on learning to use an oscilloscope though, so I figured I could mess around with that a little. Otherwise, I'd probably send this back. Very disappointing. I don't normally do reviews like this, but I really wish I had found a review that mentioned these shortcomings before I bought this. That would have spared me a lot of time, money and frustration. So I felt it was my duty to let others know about all this. Mainly the fact that it won't measure Germanium transistors. That just seems like a very basic thing that pretty much any component tester should be able to do!

What a great toy. Every ET should have one. A palm sized O Scope and Signal Generator? Amazing!
I was skeptical when seeing the $40 price, but this is a great value. The component tester is equivalent to the standalone component testers seen elsewhere on Amazon. The 500Khz scope is decent. The auto function responds quickly. The signal generator is also decent. The triangle, ramp, and pulse waveforms degrade slightly at higher frequencies, but this could be the probe. The unit comes with a variety of leads, a x10 OS probe, a charging cable, and decent manual. All in all, I am very pleased (and surprised). Highly recommended. For about $25 more, there is a 10Mhz version. (DSO-TC4)

Worthless
I mistakenly thought this would be an okay first oscilloscope, for occasional use and helping me decide whether I wanted to get a decent one. The reviews made it clear this is a pretty cheesy piece of crap, but I thought I'd learn something from it at least. As a scope, it's nearly unusable. It's so limited and the controls are so awful, it's really just a gesture in the general direction of a scope. I'm returning it, and I got a Rigol instead. Yeah, the Rigol costs considerably more, but it's an actual usable tool. This is not. After playing with both, I don't see how any oscilloscope without knobs could be usable. The component tester seems to do okay with the obvious stuff--yeah, I already knew it was a resistor. My DVM reads the values of resistors, capacitors, and diodes, and I actually trust its readings. This thing claims to give ESR readings of capacitors, but you can't set the frequency, and I have absolutely no reason to think its readings are meaningful. For that, you'll want an actual ESR meter. As for other components, it is often wrong and unrepeatable. Useless. Finally, the signal generator. As I understand it, there are 2 reasons you might buy a signal generator: (1) because you need one, probably for diagnosing audio or RF equipment, or (2) because you want one, perhaps to help you learn to better use your scope. This is definitely not (1)--you'll definitely have to spend a lot more money for something decent. For (2), it won't do any good if this is also your scope, as you can't use both functions at once. If what you want is an awkward, limited signal generator, shell out 9 bucks for an XR2206 kit and solder it up. That's what I'm using with my Rigol scope. You can even get 2 channels out of it, if you don't mind the 2nd being square wave. In summary, this thing is a toy in all ways but one: it isn't fun.

FNRSi DSO-TC3 - A handy little tool
I bought this unit to replace a very cheap clone DSO-150 oscilloscope I've had for a number of years. The DSO-150 was an adequate hobbyist scope, but it needed an external 9V power supply and had no additional functions beyond the scope itself. The DSO-TC3 is an ideal tool for the hobbyist; it has a basic single-channel oscilloscope, a signal generator, and a component tester, all in a small, well-made package powered by a rechargeable battery. Operation is fairly intuitive, and anyone learning about electronics or dabbling in microcontrollers will appreciate how helpful the information this tool provides can be. I'd love to have a $$$$ Siglent scope, but out in the field, troubleshooting a flow meter pulse output to a high-speed counter module, I was happy to have the small hand-held DSO-TC3; it performed well and provided all the info I needed to resolve the issue. The 10x probe setting increases the scope's 40V maximum to 400V, so you can stick it in AC outlets or on dimmer switch outputs for a fun (and possibly painful) learning experience. It's not perfect; the scope trace can be a little jittery and some reviewers complain about suspect capacitor values from the component tester, but for the price, it's a really good multipurpose tool. The firmware version in the unit I received is V0.3, which appears to be the latest release at this time.
