awesome bag!
Love almost everything about the bag! Great quality in the materials of the bag. Goggle pocket is big enough for extra goggles and/or a thermos. The Avy pocket could open up a little bit further, and I wish the bag had hip pockets. Strongly recommend for a resort day and light back country day.

Good feature set for a pack at this price point ...
Good feature set for a pack at this price point and the Black version of the pack looks cool in a low-key way.I've used it for split board touring, lift-served and side country snowboarding, trail running, and a lazy photo trip to a remote beach. 25 liters is a great size for single day outings and the the pack profile is slim and keeps weight close even with a hydration bladder. The "main" compartment is accessed from the back panel and I found it useful for stashing a water bottle, snacks, and extra layers. This kept the "front" compartment available for carrying my wand, shovel, skins, and ski crampons. The "goggle pouch" is a great feature and worked great for goggles (doh!), more snacks, spare gloves, and my iPhone. There is a pouch on the right strap for more snacks and a whistle, pocket knife, or a summit doobie if you are into that sort of thing and you live in WA, OR, or CO. Will accommodate an Ava-Lung unit if I so desire which is something I rather appreciate as an option. There are some neat features here like the stowaway straps for the A-frame ski carry system, ice-axe loops, and the helmet carrier.Pro: carries backcountry safety equipment in separate compartment that organizes neatly and separates "wet gear" from "dry gear"; diaper-like helmet carrier is really neat and useful.Con: 25 liter will only accommodate my Prior split board in the diagonal carry mode. The board halves are two wide for the A-frame mode without diy modification. The larger version of this pack allows for vertical snowboard carry but this feature was not built into the 25 liter pack.Overall, I can see myself carrying this for a lot of simple single-day outings in all 4 seasons. It won't replace every pack I owned prior to this one but I have so far appreciated the numerous details BD included in the Dawn Patrol 25. Pack is designed for skiers as evidenced by the lightweight ice axe loops. Will work for occasional use but I would not count on this for many days of mountaineering or alpine rock without fearing losing my tools.Overall a good day pack for mountain outings, especially if you enjoy ski or split board touring and want a durable, lightweight, and affordable pack.
