Review: Great little bed - Itโs easy to put together, sturdy (Iโm about 190 lbs and bed is sturdy), very comfortable, rolls away and is compact, comes with tools and cover for storage. Good value in my opinion. I took off one star because the mattress is a little thin but nothing a thick blanket canโt solve.

The mattress is VERY THIN
When it comes to folding beds, convenience and comfort should ideally go hand in hand. Unfortunately, the folding bed I recently purchased, boasting the promise of portability and space-saving design, has left me rather underwhelmed. While the overall construction and folding mechanism are commendable, the one aspect that truly matters โ the mattress โ falls drastically short of expectations. The first thing that struck me upon unpacking the folding bed was its compact size and ease of setup. The frame unfolded effortlessly, and the locking mechanism felt secure. However, my initial enthusiasm waned when I took a closer look at the mattress. To put it bluntly, it's shockingly thin. In the pursuit of making the bed easily foldable, it seems they sacrificed the thickness and, consequently, the comfort of the mattress. Sleeping on this bed has been a mixed experience at best. The lack of adequate cushioning from the thin mattress becomes apparent the moment you lie down. It feels as though you're almost directly on the frame, with minimal padding to cushion pressure points. This is especially problematic for those who might have back issues or need proper support for a good night's sleep. I must also mention the issue of insulation. The thin mattress doesn't provide much of a barrier between your body and the frame, and this can lead to an uncomfortable temperature exchange. I found myself feeling colder during the night due to the lack of insulation from the ground. Furthermore, the mattress's lack of plushness affects the overall relaxation and coziness that one seeks in a folding bed. Whether it's for guests or for personal use in smaller living spaces, a bed should offer comfort beyond just a functional sleeping surface. On the positive side, the bed's foldability and ease of storage are indeed impressive. It's perfect for those tight on space or for unexpected guests. The frame feels sturdy, and the locking mechanism inspires confidence in its durability. In conclusion, while the folding bed excels in terms of convenience and space-saving design, the mattress's thinness is a major drawback that cannot be overlooked. Given that sleep quality and comfort are paramount in any bedding product, the unsatisfactorily thin mattress severely hampers the overall experience. If you value your sleep and comfort, I would advise considering other options on the market that prioritize both convenience and mattress quality.

The little details are what let it down.
My first impression when I opened the box was "uh oh". The box was packed with probably the thinnest, cheapest, lowest quality styrofoam I have ever come across. It's crumbly, and coats the inside of the box and sticks to every single part of the bed frame, and in general, leaves a mess. As for assembly, there are some things not included that are nice to have, and some things not included that you need to have. Nice to have: 10mm socket wrench. While you could get by with the provided wrenches, having a socket wrench considerably speeds up the assembly process. A nicer/longer hex key set. Again, while the provided hex keys will do, having longer hex keys that don't dig into your palm will make the process more comfortable to do. Must have: Pliers. Multiple tabs came bent, and different parts would not move or fit where they were supposed to go until the tabs were bent back into place. A vacuum. As mentioned before, the cheap styrofoam is pervasive, and you will make your life easier by first throwing all the large pieces into a trash bag, and vacuuming up the inside of the box, and then vacuuming each part as you take it out of the box. You'll still have errant bits of styrofoam appear out of nowhere, but it'll be a lot less than if you didn't vacuum as much as you can first. While the frame itself folds ok and will do what it needs to do, here are my major gripes that may be a dealbreaker: The previously mentioned bent tabs. The powdercoating used is very thin, and was already flaking off on the handles. Others have mentioned it, but the mattress is very thin. While it's advertised as being 5" thick, what they don't mention is that it has very little firmness, so when you lay down on it, you will sink right to the bottom and feel the frame underneath. If you already have an appropriately sized memory foam mattress you like to use, use that instead, and don't even take the provided mattress out of the bag. I regret opening mine, as now I have to figure out what to do with it. tl;dr: If you already have a nice memory foam mattress, just buy a standalone folding frame instead of this frame/mattress combo.
