Faithfull FAIPOINTING Pointing Gun Kit (Mortar and Cement)

The Cement and Mortar Gun arrived a few days ahead of the stated delivery time. All the components seem strong and well made. To my mind this is a 5 star product; after reading the instructions and taking heed of the comments posted my first use of the Cement and Mortar Gun was faultless. I mixed my own mortar; I spent about 5 minutes in total doing so and found the mixing paddle worked a treat; I used one of the plastic tubes supplied, to measure out a 5-1 mix of sand/cement, using a narrow garden trowel to fill the tube. I added plasticiser as directed to 5lt of water. I used just under 1 & a 1/2 Lt of water for the mix, this was spot on and the mortar gun performed perfectly, after first wetting the inside of the tube/nozzle & the plunger. I didn't have a very large area of paving to grout so the amount of mortar mix was ample for each of the three sessions I worked. From a second bucket of clean water; I rinsed the tube & nozzle after each use of the Cement Gun, I also cleaned the plunger. I found it was so much easier with the Cement Gun filling between the paving slabs than messing about using a trowel. I used some old 15mm & 22mm off-cuts of copper pipe to smooth over the various sized joints to finish the job off nicely. So following my experience with the Cement & Mortar Gun, I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Solid built tool, there are there ones ( brands) out there on the market, that are smaller designs, forget it. With over 34 yrs in the building trade, this gun is the best, easy to fill up , easy to clean, U can point in a decent size area in one tube , little tip once U wash/ clean it, spray the rubber seal, arm and spring trigger with a silicone spray/ WD40 spray

Bought this for groating tiles after killing my hands doing approx 20-30 tiles worth of area at a time and hating it! This is awesome, be prepared to groat like a pro, once you get started only the capacity of teh tube slows you down and just as well as you need to "clean up and smooth down" all the applicating as you go! Tile is easy with this one. Note: You must sieve your dry groat mix before adding water and pouring into the gun as the mix often has lumps large enough to block the nozzle, once you have trimmed the nozzle to your desired feed size and loaded the tube pump out excess air, put a finger over the end to control feed and pressure up, then away you go (use your finger to control start stop locations and you can cover a massive area in very little time, also as this is "pumped" into the tile gaps the mixture fills the hole so you don't get air gaps or have a tendancy for the dried groat to sink into the gap, leaves a really good finish with just one pass Only downside for me was the plunger travel, fully deployed and the rubber seal would drop past the end of the tube and became difficult to pull it back out, a better design would have been to have an angled rubber seal for extraction or a deeper rubber seal to not slip past the end of the tube. Still a lot faster and easier on hand cramp then doing it with a small scraper.

Honestly the worst product I have purchased off of Amazon in a long time. I watched videos on you tube saying how great this gun was. I can say without doubt after attempting to use the gun to point in my brick slip wall. It was horrendous. So messy so painful in terms of it blocking up. To refill was a nightmare trying to pull back the push bar an absolute nightmare. I remade the mix looser and still done the same. terrible. If I could return it I would.

I tried this to attempt to make pointing a bit less messy, however it didn't work, the mortar needs to be quite runny and the plunger blocks up, it was almost impossible to withdraw the plunger and the mess it made was awful. i will give it 3 stars as the ideas is there but in practice it's terrible.

Difficult to get right consistency of mortar, sloppy enough to use the gun means it is almost too sloppy to stay in the joints. Difficult to separate the nozzle from the gun for cleaning. Resorted to trowel and pointing tool.

I haven't used this item yet but I'm sure it will work fine. I successfully used a tube from mastic applicator to fill an inaccessible hole in the rendering of an outbuilding with mortar, before I found that a proper mortar applicator was available I have a lot of pointing work to do on my barn and this looks ideal for the job. I understand that it's very important to get the mortar mix correct, using soft sand, lime and a plasticisor (the advised mix is in the instructions) and also to thoroughly clean the tube with water after each use Arrived very quickly and a fair price

I read the reviews and I have to say the people that gave it one star obviously didn't know how it works. (Lol) I like the fact I could go to home depot and buy some of the tubing in plumbing. This gun is built nice.
