Just in time for the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series on Disney+, a refreshed edition of The Lightning Thief graphic novel If you haven't yet submerged yourself in the graphic novel adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, treat yourself to this refreshed edition with an exciting new cover. Four huge talents from the comic book industry contributed to this adaptation of the classic that has sold millions of copies worldwide, has been on the New York Times best-seller list for more than twelve years, and is the basis of an 8-episode series on Disney+. Mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking out of the pages of twelve-year-old Percy Jackson's textbooks and into his life. And worse, he's angered a few of them. Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now, he and his friends have just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. Series creator Rick Riordan joins forces with four of the biggest names in comic books to tell the story of a boy who must unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

A Great Companion to the Series
I see a lot of complaints that this is NOT the original novel, and I have to say: Of course it isn't. This is more of a companion piece - a cliff notes version; which is not to say that this is a bad thing. It really isn't.I do agree that it's short; yes, it is. But even the original series itself feels short if, like me, you're somebody who really gets into the stories they read. Also, some parts have been left out. Important parts that set up the future books. But This book just gives the reader the incentive (as it should) to then read (or re-read) the novels themselves, and to then fill the missing parts in and for me, it serves that purpose and then some. The main purpose this companion serves for me is the visual aspect. I love the English language and am actually a linguistics genius, but I have always preferred the visual aspect of media and entertainment. However, while I am one of the few who actually enjoyed the film version (to an extent), I wasn't really pleased with some of the aesthetics, and I did not appreciate some of the casting choices either, Annabeth Chase being one of the bigger ones. With that being said, I was actually ecstatic when I learned that there may possibly be a TV adaptation of the series, and I ordered this set to get an idea of the art style behind the characters, and this novel served that purpose beautifully. I will admit that some of the characters look a little more...developed, for their ages, but it's nice to get an idea of where the TV adaptation can go and, for that, I applaud these graphic novels wholeheartedly.

It’s ok I guess
It is a good book with nice images but it lacks a lot of the original book but still good

You must buy this graphic novel
All I can say is it is a good book the art is great and I've been told by friends who read the original Percy Jackson The lightning thief book that the graphic novel is pretty loyal to the original book so I definitely recommend if you want a good read that's not too long

A Captivating Journey Through Mythology
I’ve always been fascinated by mythology, and Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief gave me fresh perspectives on these timeless stories. The way Rick Riordan weaves mythological elements into a modern setting is both impressive and engaging. The narrative is immersive, full of adventure, and keeps you hooked from beginning to end. It’s not just a story—it’s an experience that makes mythology feel alive and relevant today.

Not accurate
So I was really excited to read the graphic novel version of Percy Jackson and the Olympians but it was not what I was expecting. First off, in the last part of the book Luke try’s to kill Percy. But in the graphic novel Luke runs away from camp and Percy never sees him or knows until Chiron tells him. Percy has such a long face and looks nothing like how he’s supposed to, same with his mom, she has brown hair mixed with gray and beautiful brown eyes.Honestly this could have been better, but I admire the artwork and dedication it took to make this. Even though I wish that we got to see Percy put the pieces together and realize that Clarisse didn’t steal the bolt, it was all Luke Castellen. Please don’t take this to heart.❤️

I mean... it's PERCY JACKSON! Come'on already!
I have read a couple of the Percy Jackson books... but my granddaughter? She's INSANE about Percey Jackson, the half-blood camp and other characters in Rick R.'s series. RICK! If you're ever back in San Antonio, please reach out through the Author Portal (I'm a writer, too, you know). I'd love to get a meeting (she would DIE- and she's a prolific reader... you'd be impressed) or at least an autograph.

Excellent Read
I'd been hunting for a while for a book that would grip reluctant readers - something that was challenging but at the same time accessible and this fit the bill!I'm a big fan of the Percy Jackson series anyway, but the books are daunting for reluctant readers and quite tricky reads. This graphic novel told the same story but in a much clearer, easy to follow way. The pictures complement the story perfectly, narrating some events without the need for words. In essence it simplifies the plot and makes it clearer what happens.I'd recommend this for children and adult alike - a very enjoyable book!
