When it says “live select”, does that mean i can choose which colors i want, or do you have to choose for me? because i am wanting certain colors.

You have no choice. They select for you.

Do I need to separate the new koi from the 7" 2 year old koi (i.e., will the older koi eat the juveniles)?

You will be fine, your 7” or larger will not eat a 2” fish. This is a great seller by the way.

Five of my 10 fish have died. is that normal. also, i thought i was getting 10 butterfly koi, but two were not.

One of my fish swim out of the shipping bag, laid on it’s side and died a few hours later. The ship however was delayed overnight and delivery. To fish never ate and survived about a week. The rest are eating well and thriving. All are butterfly Koi has noticed by their fins. I did get a refund for the fish that died on arrival.

Seriously? How much time do you have? These are live critters, they will continue to grow to fill their environment. And they can live longer than you will under the right conditions. Expect your fish to be around 12" in 4- 5years. And ENJOY!!!
